Might want to stop while you're ahead on this one (argument)

Sorry if I made anybody rage, just presenting my observation, I'm not on a path to argue because that would probably turn into who has the larger ego competition.
While we're on the topic of stoners, why do 90% of them always fail classes in school. It has to have some sort of social effects.

Just a observation. Most stoners I know never go to class :v: When they do go to class they doodle or eat cheetos.

Eh just a observation from first hand experience. I don't need to proof anything because I never said it was fact and just a observation.

I smoke weed, I doodle and eat cheetos. But I'm not a stoner.
Oh wow.
Stop now, it's a good idea.

Hmm. I kinda think it's weird when I post things saying to do something and they beat me to the next post AND my idea.
Fair enough, people would be happier. But from a realistic point of view, a head of state making positive comments about drug taking doesn't go down well with a population.
Unless over half of the population wants it legal.
A better question is why Tobacco and Alcohol are not regulated. Tobacco and Alcohol have no medicinal use, have negative health effects, and both have high potential for abuse and addiction.
But alcohol and tobacco are regulated.
But alcohol and tobacco are regulated.
Not as much as weed though
Oh wow.

I already stopped, how can I stop twice.

Obama seems to be decreasing in quality lately, everything he says in his speeches and on TV is deceptive and when he isn't speaking out a prewritten speech that wasn't written by him he is acting like a arrogant ass.
Unless over half of the population wants it legal.
It's a fair point.
If he is re-elected then maybe he'll comment.
A better question is why Tobacco and Alcohol are not regulated. Tobacco and Alcohol have no medicinal use, have negative health effects, and both have high potential for abuse and addiction.
It is highly regulated, but yes I feel they should do the same for marijuana as they are with Alcohol. Not Tobacco as putting unproven gore-labels on packages is not a good way of doing things because it makes no sense. If they find some sort of risk associated with breathing in smoke constantly is bad for your lungs then so be it.
I already stopped, how can I stop twice.
Oh wow, I thought I caught myself but you're a bad reader.
I told you to stop, but in posting you made another post saying you'll stop, hence me editing my post with your newer post.

Now you are the one continuing.. please stop?
Now you are the one continuing.. please stop?
I wasn't continuing anything, just pointing out a fact. Moving along.
But alcohol and tobacco are regulated.
The only regulation is age in regards to possession and consumption. Being drunk in public and where you can drink/smoke is another matter.
The only regulation is age in regards to possession and consumption. Being drunk in public and where you can drink/smoke is another matter.
Exactly. Remember alcohol was prohibited at one point because of this and drunkenness, its not as hypocritical as you think.
I'm trying to say they could have reasons such as public order, nothing has been tried when it comes to legalization of Marijuana so its hard so say. I'm not pro-prohibition though.
Exactly. Remember alcohol was prohibited at one point because of this and drunkenness, its not as hypocritical as you think.
I don't even understand what you're trying to say.
Making it legal doesn't mean you grow it yourself, or your corner dealer can sell it anymore. It means it becomes a regulated substance like tobacco. You will have companies adding things to the weed to make it addictive and weaken the affect so you purchase more.
You think it's bad now how cops go after pot farms, wait until they start to have lobby groups pressuring a response to the unlicensed sale of marijuana.
Decriminalizing it is the best option on the table right now, at least then you still keep it away from corporate influence.

what
when its legalized they won't be able to sell it
the fuck
These comments that act as though Obama would support the measure isn't backing by anything but hope. This should be quite obvious as he seems to be a supporter of the drug war, for instance he has been cracking down on medical marijuana dispensaries despite promises he wouldn't and that he wouldn't pursue decriminalization. I don't find the idea that he has to be careful about what he says before election season as 50% of Americans support legalization. If this issue was put front and center and there was a real discussion about it, that number would be bound to increase.
The day pot becomes legal I'm going to get sooooo fucking high.

Also, op's avatar fits :V

Is that in the sense that you are going to smoke up for the first time because there are now no legal repercussions for getting caught, or is the sense of having a victory toke? If it is the first one, I advice you to screw the law and light up a bowl.
not a serious issue.

I stopped after my parents found my pipe...

and the plant I was growing
not a serious issue.
Billions of dollars wasted, millions jailed for victimless crimes, destroying families and lives over a plant.
Yeah, not a serious issue.
[editline]31st January 2012[/editline]
The government should be putting those wasted tax dollars into education and healthcare.

Can I get some sources for those figures? I'd be more inclined to side with you if you provide some.
Even discussing it this close to the elections would be political suicide.

You'd buy it like cigarettes and they'd be reduced to how cigarettes are now a days. You ever roll a cigarette with normal tobacco? No ammonia or other additives. It's good, it's how it should be and sadly it's going to end up being "Back in my day, we only needed a few joints to get high, now you need 15. I miss ye olde pot."

It's hard to pin down just how many are in jail, all my searches are coming up with old data. You can find that yourself.
As for the money spent on the war on drugs, that's also difficult to pin down, but I can post this. http://www.drugsense.org/cms/wodclock
Can I get some sources for those figures? I'd be more inclined to side with you if you provide some.
http://www.drugwarfacts.org/cms/Marijuana#Total (Table number 94)
10,106,550 arrested for possession alone in the past 15 years
And cigarettes have been bringing in 15+ billion a year in tax revenue, so assuming pot was taxed similarly, it is billions of dollars being wasted.
http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxfacts/displayafact.cfm?Docid=403
Not to mention the cost of the drug war itself and the costs of jailing those 10 million users

Slippery slope fallacy, there is no real logical reason as to why that would happen
