• Google CEO: Internet Anonymity is dangerous

Well guys, time for a new google bomb. Anonymity.
That's quite sickening.. Does anyone seriously want to have their name searched when looking for a job, have some internet posts come up showing that you're heavily into video games (a turn off for many employers)? Or have some butthurt psycho who you kill in a video game come back for revenge? No thanks. Maybe that's not a concern for billionaire CEOs but for average people it is a big concern. The thought of these people trying to take away internet anonymity is fucking sickening. It's bad enough that employers can plug your name into google search engine and find out what you do and use that information against you.. now they want to expand on that even more by taking away *any* slight privacy of being behind a screen name. It's disturbing and sickening.

Besides, we all have something dark deep down inside that we've all done, things of a dark nature, and anyone who even attempts to say they've done nothing bad is a liar. Take away anonymity, and all that darkness spills out, everybody's crimes are revealed, and any future things are attributed to you. The internet is built up on a thick veil of protective deceit, but it is necessary to prevent everyone harbouring hatred and contempt for each other should the dark truths be revealed. Removing that protective cloak of lies and anonymity would result in millions being criminalised, reprimanded, and in some cases even penalised. Sure, some crimes are more serious than others, and deserve the severe consequences, but mostly we're all carrying the yokes of petty crimes, things not that serious but still against the doctrine, and are typically not worth the wasted effort of tracking us all down. To protect the internet and all it's inhabitants, threats to our freedom and safety must be removed and punished for their crimes against our way of life, in an effort to neutralise any threat they might pose, and also to discipline them to stop them doing it again. After all, isn't punishment used to discourage one from doing something wrong? And what better way to remove a threat than to involve them in serious crimes, thus tarnishing their reputation, isolating them from everyone else, and preventing them from having any effect on the greater scheme of things? Google's CEO does pose a threat, he's speaking words that could set off a chain reaction that removes anonymity and safety on our internets. Just because the curtains are open, and the safety net removed, doesn't mean all the bad things stop. It just means that all the bad things are revealed, and they're not so easy to stop that you could just remove the curtains and some 15 year old boy called Michael Carter instantly stops looking at X-rated 18+ material. It ain't a pretty sight, and you'll wish you'd never seen it, so it's best to keep the curtains closed. In other words, we've all done bad things (anyone who says otherwise is a liar), and removing anonymity/safety exposes all those things, leaving us open and vulnerable due to many people weighing the bad things too heavily against the good things and "grey" things we've done, with no sense of balance whatsoever, and persecute us for the bad things. (Grey meaning neutral, neither good nor bad) Therefore, we need to keep the curtains closed to keep our reputations and "slates" clean. Sure, to preserve the safety of the petty we need to expose the serious, but it's all for the greater good. You can't make an Ommelete of Protection without breaking a few Eggs of Reputation.
TLDR ironman17 wants to make Eric Shmidt's life a living hell just because he supports something that'd make it harder for ironman17 to troll people without getting caught.

I think I read something about this on cracked. I was a bit skeptical but I don't like the way google has been going. Its almost as if they kinda branched out too much.

what the fuck, google has SUCKED in the past 5 years.
It's also dangerous not to be anonymous, god knows who can find out all sort of things about you, not being anonymous can be just as dangerous.
Suppose even if we separated anonymity and privacy, they're just going to start pushing the line into privacy so they can claim to be authorized to monitor the things we do in our privacy which is just wrong.
