yeah sure I've heard it before it's just not a very useful way to describe the situation as the environment(Culturally and socially) in quebec is considerably different from any where else in the "Americas". The use of "Americas" is usually as a large and vague term covering a lot of ground. I don't see it applying very well to a Quebecois issue.
Fair enough, I suppose that was kind of a weird spot to use it now that I read back
So he intentionally made himself look like a potential criminal by acting evasive and then wonders why he got pepper sprayed? This lack of respect for authority is why America is going to shit.
If anything is wrong with the Americas it is because of people like you who justify our officers inflicting injury after they racially profile someone in his driveway with his children, who only asked for a reason (which there was not in this case). [editline]23rd December 2015[/editline] it's literally a cop harassing a citizen because he is black, and then assaulting him you're just as bad as he is
Chilcott assumed it was a case of “driving while black.” On this occasion, Chilcott refused to comply when the officer asked him to identify himself, saying he first wanted to know why he was being stopped.
How you know the entire situation is fucked already. Dont know about Canada, but in the US you have no right to know why you were pulled over.. you do however have a legal obligation to identify yourself. Was chemspray necessary? Probably not. Theres other ways to solve this besides that. Cops (and even firefighters) in Quebec are protesting changes with their contracts. Not uncommon to see them dressed differently.
:snip:
I live in Alberta, have all my life. I can unfortunately confirm the racism. If they don't drive trucks, roughneck for work, and drink beer while smacking a girls ass and fighting whoever protests, then they are not normal, and should go back to their -enter whatever you like- country. Also gays and black people are weird. Embarrassing at absolute least. Soul crushing, undefeatable and entirely too common at most.

Harassing citizens and going on power trips will not, and should not, earn that respect. He was well within his rights to ask why he had been stopped. I'm not even sure why that wasn't one of the first things the cop said, I know down here in Maine that's usually the first thing they say. This cop is a fucking incompetent loser, plain and simple.

You also do not have to give them any ID outside of your name as they can search it on the computer to check. The only thing is you only hear about these ones, any time I've dealt with cops I haven't a single problem. Hell I've been completely shit faced to wear I'm stumbling around and they just go oh you're walking home, have a nice night.
Honestly, the guy should've just complied knowing how cops are nowadays. But I mean pepper spraying the dude is bullshit as well.
I used to think like that too, but honestly fuck that. Why should you bend over backwards for someone who is there for your protection. He wasn't even belligerent and you have every right to know why you are being pulled over, for your own knowledge if nothing else. Keeping silent at times like these gives the dick the confidence to do something similar to the next guy and the next. And complaining afterwards never gives you the same feeling of closure after being treated unfairly since you rarely know if or how the officer was reprimanded (unless maybe in Canada they do tell you the result of their enquiry, I don't know) and you let things go off to the wind of internal affairs and cops watching out for each other. I might be wrong but I simply cannot see a call of "I was pulled over unjustly" made hours later having much effect.
Because the smart thing to do is tell the cop you disagree with his behaviour, want it on record, comply and then file a complaint. Not go nah uh until you tell me this I won't do anything. Likewise after something like this happens, you ought to file a lawsuit against the cops.
Its interesting how Quebecers always call Alberta a racist shithole.
They're only racist because the "Western Cowboy" culture is alive and well, which is American which definitely influences the culture itself to be racist. (Don't fucking act like U.S. culture isn't racist, I cite slavery end of discussion).
(Don't fucking act like U.S. culture isn't racist, I cite slavery end of discussion).
(dont refute my argument pls)
The cop was a dickhead but the guy was stupid by not just giving him his fucking ID Yeah, let's all make a big whoop about how his kids are so horrified that their non-compliant dad got his ass handed to him but not mention the fact that "hey, not listening to the police is fucking bad, kids"

Doesn't seem that great of a discussion ender, does it?

He has a right to know why he is being pulled over. The cop is entirely, 100% in the wrong here.

It's just what makes for good headlines. You'll find an evenly spread amount of bigotry across all of Canada. [editline]23rd December 2015[/editline] The plural of anecdote is not data, etc...
considering everyone with _QC in their names flips shit about me being from Alberta whenever I end up in a csgo game with them I'm pretty sure it's not your politicians considering people from B.C. and Saskatchewan, etc have zero issue with me.
