The MPAA should die. They want to control the internet and their cause is they made some good and shitty films that people -used- to buy.
Government: STOP SHARING. Us: Then why you fucking hiding aliens and your stupid little conspiracies? Government: JAIL TIME!
Just not mediafire. They're probably the most respectable out of the bunch and have a lot of legitimate, unique content and aren't bitchy with their download speeds/amount.
Go after rapidshare not mediafire!
April Fools!
It says March 31 That isn't April Fools day Probably is an early A.F joke
Someone kill the MPAA now, please
It says March 31 That isn't April Fools day Probably is an early A.F joke
It's April 1st for me over here.
Get your greasy paws off our internets you damn dirty corporates! Seriously though, this infuriates me on so many levels. Someone needs to bankrupt the MAFIAA.
Fuck you MPAA we have the right to see Films and TV series free of charge when the film makers have spend up to millions making them.
Okay, I can understand going after MU and all the sites they run (MegaVideo, etc.) because they were actually ran by someone committing crimes, and would be considered as evidence. But the rest of these upload sites? They are quite respectable in comparison. Especially Mediafire which actually seems to follow through with DMCA takedown requests. Who the fuck thought it would be a good idea to let content publishers create something like the MPAA and RIAA? They have way too much power that way.
Fuck you MPAA we have the right to see Films and TV series free of charge when the film makers have spend up to millions making them.
Indeed, especially when their theatrical releases crush box offices.
I am hoping it's an April Fools joke. But I'm not all that convinced. This isn't something that would surprise me coming from the MAFIAA. Hell, I predicted that MediaFire would become a target within a few months, after Megaupload went down.
March 31, 2012 is the date for me so I doubt it's an April Fools.

This is an accurate representation of my daily life

I don't think they understand the reason people pirate their movies is because the things they make are shitty and no one wants to pay good money to watch them. They should realize that everything they do is just going to make them make shitty movies and have a terrible reputation with a lot of people in the world, and make a lot of precious items get lost.
"Did you know that EVERY file on a ROGUE FILE SHARING WEBSITE is a COPYRIGHTED MOVIE and that they SACRIFICE A BABY every time you ILLEGALLY DOWNLOAD ONE?"
"Did you know that EVERY file on a ROGUE FILE SHARING WEBSITE is a COPYRIGHTED MOVIE and that they SACRIFICE A BABY every time you ILLEGALLY DOWNLOAD ONE?"
If only population control was that easy.
Last November, for example, we got our hands on an MPAA fact sheet titled“It’s All About the Money: The ‘Business’ Model of Rogue Cyberlockers” with an overview of the several affiliate programs some cyberlockers have in place. According to the MPAA these programs motivate users to share copyrighted material, thereby promoting piracy.
Well at least the MPAA et. al have a halfway decent argument this time around. I don't pirate anything because I can't stand the fact that someone is making money off of illegal copies of someone else's work by spreading their links around the Internet. I would much rather give my money to the people who created the content instead, even if that means giving money to greedy money-hungry corporations. (I won't use torrents because they're too easy to track, and DDL services have that affiliate service)
MAFIAA, just as hardcore as Micro$oft. Damn man you cool.
Uhh... That's a common (albeit satirical) conjunction of the MPAA and the RIAA. I didn't feel like typing "coming from the MPAA and/or the RIAA" so I just conjoined them. It literally stands for "Music And Film Industry Association of America." It's an (again, satirical) postulation of what their name would become if the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) and the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) were to join together and become a single association. Get off the high horse, mate.
fuck off don't touch my beloved mediafire
April Fool's jokes are meant to funny, not genuinely frightening or depressing. This is a horrible April Fool's prank.
Real or fake, with the MMRGs' (Mass Media Rights Groups') reputation, this is highly believable. Even on April Fools.
Wait, so are they doing this with or without the assistance of the government like with MegaUpload? Not that I'm an expert on US Law or anything, but if the MPAA is doing this without said assistance, wouldn't that be an abuse of power or something? But like I said, I don't know how the law works with that sort of situation.
i doubt it's april fools, this was posted on March 31, 2012 in the news site, not april 1st.
They can't do anything on their own. They can 'convince' law enforcement with lots of money that something needs to be done about it.
Oh, HEAAAAAIIILLL NO. Mediafire has a lot of my shit on it.
nooooo all my porn!
fileserve I get but mediafire? that's like 99.9% legit
