1. Your fault for not voting, since the turnout was half of what it was last election
The people who didn't care enough to vote aren't the ones out protesting.
2. Accept it, he won using the same system as the last god knows how many presidents.
By this logic, you can never complain about anything whatsoever a democratically elected leader does.
As per what someone said on the first page, he was elected through your legal system that has worked for a long time, if he got into power, it's

How do you know that none of these millions of protestors did not vote?
Protesting his policies is perfectly fine, he's a retard for some of the stuff he says. The thing I'm saying is don't go whining about him being in power since the US people put him there, -3 million votes or not. Your legal system and your people put him on that seat.
and I'm saying accept he's the president, not accept his policies. Most people are still protesting about him being president. Tough shit, he is and he's not budging. However people still have the power to help fuck off some of his policies that are dumb, so fair enough with that.
Ah, the Goal posts have now changed. Who cares about the time sensitivity when we don't even know what happens when the EPA website comes back up.
You're so full of yourself it's disgusting.
You attempted to normalize this by going "BUT OBAMA AND BUSH DID THIS". Someone pointed out, it was a different circumstance and you're accusing them of shifting the goalpost. But lets ignore that, because the most important thing is that you used previous shit moves from a previous presidency to justify that trump made a shit move.
👌

Accept it? Because of a bad system was used before, that means we should accept it?
Hey, I said something really stupid on the first page. I made a bad assumption I am sorry. :(
Added explanation:
EDIT:
Yeah, my bad, I misunderstood the banner that it was in reference to Trump being elected at all VS his policies. I hope people never stop fighting for what they believe in, hopefully they rally more people into participating in the next election so we can be better represented. Forgive me for my asinine post. Just to clarify: I am not a Trump supporter. Sometimes it's hard to tell if a protest is for a person or a system.
Nothing to apologize for if you misinterpret something
Tudd, I respect you and all, but my god man. You don't have to defend everything the guy spouts out. What he's been attempting to do with shit like the EPA since yesterday is not just "temporarily taking some pages down". There's articles talking on the other crap. It's fucked up.
Hey, I said something really stupid on the first page. I made a bad assumption I am sorry. :(
It's totally cool. Misunderstandings happen.
Accept it? Because of a bad system was used before, that means we should accept it?
Anytime someone tells you that, it's a sign you need to ignore them because they don't actually know what they're talking about.

People have been arguing against the electoral college system for ages. Nobody wants it except for republicans that want an unfair voting power boost because arbitrary landmasses mostly populated by republicans are less populated than larger arbitrary landmasses that are mostly populated by democrats.
I agree though that he's 'rightly' president. But it's not necessarily a yes or no question, it's perfectly reasonable to say that he has less claim to his authority for various reasons such as his massive popular vote loss, foreign interference, conflicts of interest, abysmal approval ratings. Obviously there's no point where it would trigger him being officially unpresidented, but there may very well be a point where the people refuse to accept him anyway, which they can then act upon by protesting and working to get him removed.

I remember reading something about this, it may be to do with certain states turnout? Can't find the specific info I saw but I think it was about half turnout for some states for certain candidates, so I retract that statement as half the turnout as a whole.
and for accepting it. Yeah, accept it, stop being a child. Instead of whining, do something about it. I don't live in the US and thank god since everyone seems to want to just complain and do nothing about it.
Stop protesting trump and start protesting your bad system and fix it so someone like him doesn't get in again.

First, I'm just going to point out "Accept it, do something about it" is an oxymoron.
Second, before I talk about changing the electoral college, what do you think a citizen can do to change it? Like if you had the power of 1 million American citizens, what would you use that power on?
Thanks for pointing that out man, appreciate yah :rollout:
I would obviously storm the white house and take it over and position myself as a dictatorship.
right to your own body =/= right to kill something that is separate to your body
That's like, totally your opinion, man.
I'm surprised that a head of cabbage has lasted on FP for this long.
I think people should campaign for a transferable vote, namely because it's a simple change that wouldn't require a huge reworking of the entire system. Removing the electoral college would probably be ideal, but it would be much harder to argue for, and much harder to implement.
I would obviously storm the white house and take it over and position myself as a dictatorship.
I'm actually being serious here.
Hahaha, holy shit. The hashtag #resist on Twitter is taking off like a rocket. These guys sparked some kind of movement.

I don't understand this sentiment. "Stop complaining and do something about it... except protesting Trump. You're not allowed to protest Trump and make your voices heard about Trump. That's just complaining."
"Stop complaining and do something about it, unless doing something about it runs counter to my interests." Okay.

Entire article was three sentences. Think Trump will say this was fake news?
I think it speaks volumes about the people that did this that they did this now, and not say, in front of NSA headquarters after the snowden leaks.
All this sophist shit is doing is eroding the public ability to protest and march against actual issues by devaluing public acts of objection by throwing such strong language/symbols around over what's basically ronald regan v2. And is ironically also making trump scandal proof. everyone goes fucking crazy every time he opens his mouth, but if it's all 10/10 panic all the time, any actual water gate tier issues would just be lost in the noise.

That's an adorable little story, but patently untrue. There were huge protests after the Snowden leaks. And if you think Trump is at all comparable to Reagan, you're a walking joke.

you're a joke, this is their issue, not everybody has got to take the entirety of the world just so that you feel good on the inside.
don't go acting out like donald isn't a very tangible threat to a big big part of the US population, because he damn is.
you know you always hear ''oh it's old people that talk like this, it'll die with them''
well you sound like an old person and i'm guessing you aren't old, so yeah it goes to show that no generation is free of backwater ideas holding people

Maybe he should stop doing such regressive shit.

Jeez and I thought the hijab thing was grasping at straws. Trying to delegitimize protests against Trump because the exact same people didn't protest in the exact same way against the NSA is some sophistry if I've ever seen it.

No i mean symbolic acts like putting "resist" near the buildings. That's some quasi revolutionary shit which is a mark above just outrage and protests.
I don't remember anything like this around the NSA

that's not what i said. i'm not saying protests as we know them are what's doing this, im saying ever heightening rhetoric bordering on wannabe revolutionary talk is just raising the ceiling and lowering the floor.

Was there antifa rioting over the NSA? I never saw anything like that. Stuff like "resist" and "not my president" is something new. And the fact that it's reached that "scale" now and not then was my point.
I guess it's easier to protest against one readily identifiable person than the more abstract NSA.
But there were protests against the NSA Not as big mind you, but they happened.
I don't get how RESIST is more revolutionary than MAGA but okay
You guys realize we live in a Republic and not a direct democracy, right?
