Still seems a bit daft.
Bring together the entire country or segregate the north even more.
Can they not just move the Scotland border to below Middlesborough, that way when they kick Scotland out the UK I won't have to suffer any more stupid tory decisions.
The initial destinations were decided by Brown's government, not the Tories
The Scottish Parliament are thinking about paying for an extension for it as well. Although apparently using Chinese tech, so that'll go well...
Something tells me this is going to go horribly wrong.

Thanks for that incredible insight
Is this a maglev? I'd assume it'd have to be, going 250mph.

Nope
I watched this family on sky news who were anti HS2 because they had to knock down their 400 year old mansion saying that it was specialised for their disabled son.
Cry me a fuckin river high speed trains will be the shit, buy another house you toffs.
Make the trains better and cheaper before you make new ones.
The year 2025 - Birmingham - Euston Station
£299 single
£∞ return
Looks like George Osbourne wasn't shitting us when he said he was going to improve railway lines, huh?
You guys think YOU need high speed rail?? Look at us! We're fucking falling apart!
Hmm I wonder when this will actually get finished.
Judging by previous projects, probably 2070 at a push

Channel Tunnel took 6 years and was only 190% of the expected budget or so :v:
I wish we had something like this in the US.
As do I. Our country is just way too big to support something like this outside of hugely populated areas. Might work decently in the Northeast though.
