Because one of the patents is for "Searching multiple sources from one box". If that's not "trivial" then you shouldn't be allowed near patents.
It was unique enough to get the patent obviously. I don't know what you're really implying even. So you're mad at Apple just because they applied for a patent on their idea? Shouldn't your anger maybe be aimed at the patent system then? Or are you implying that there is some sort of corruption and conspiracy?

It's really lame that Apple goes after one phone for a feature baked into every Android phone. I'm sure this won't stick for long but it's still really stupid to see. But I get to pick up my Galaxy SIII tomorrow :_
This makes me despise my iPod shuffle that I use because the headphone jack on my phone broke.
It's the patent system's fault for being broken as fuck, and it's Apple's fault for abusing it.
blame the patent system not apple
Or blame both? The patent system for being fucked up, and apple for taking advantage of it? It's not like it's some black and white thing where one entity always has to be at blame, both apple and the patent system need to fuck right off.
What I wonder is why all the other companies don't shit out troll patents every day like Apple does. I mean, Google is not allowed to have a feature that searches things from different places in one box, but Apple is allowed to steal Android's notification system and they do nothing about it.
