A celebrity died. I really hope this doesn't turn into a MJ situation where everyone gets all fake and pretends they loved her.
I never liked her, but I don't hate her or applaud her death. My condolences to her daughter.
Anyone who claimed to have hated Michael Jackson is idiotic, there isn't anything concrete or substantial against him other than warrantless claims (fueled by jealously).
Joan Rivers on the other hand, was someone who shouted racist, nonsensical things consistently only to claim she was a 'comedian' when criticized, as if her genocidal rantings are ~2 deep~ intellectualism that everyone but her understands. Very few people abuse their comedian status as a "license" to be a terrible human being, but Rivers was one of them.

There wasn't enough evidence to find him guilty in the court of law. This is true. But I think he was a child molester.
From a Wikipedia entry on his first child sexual abuse allegation.
In December 1993, Jackson was strip searched. Jordan Chandler (The alleged victim) had reportedly given police a description of Jackson's intimate parts, and the strip search revealed that Jordan had correctly claimed Jackson had patchy-colored buttocks, short pubic hair, and pink and brown marked testicles.
There "wasn't enough evidence" because the LAPD has zero credibility in the Jackson cases and were prominently known for corruption/abuse of power in the 90s
It was reported that Jordan Chandler claimed that Jackson was circumcised.[15][31][53] Jackson's autopsy report reveals that he had not been circumcised and his foreskin appeared naturally intact and showed no signs of having been restored from a circumcision
The whole thing was a facade trumped up by the LAPD so they could get an excuse to strip-search and take pictures of him in a room for 25 minutes.

It's right to say their credibility wasn't 100% in that era. But zero credibility? That's hyperbole. And yes, it is possible that it was all a conspiracy on the LAPD's part. But I'm not going to believe it was a conspiracy so lightly.

It's unfortunately possible that MJ had an erect penis whenever it was exposed to the child. The child would not be able to distinguish between a circumcised erect penis or an uncircumcised erect penis.

The media bias was hyperbolic against Jackson yes, the MJ case was the perfect source for sensationalism with documented cases of deliberate misrepresentation of his claims.
A significant key amount of evidence not displayed in the media is unsurprisingly always found in the trial (where the facts are). For example, an investigative entity that was not the LAPD:
Publicized later was an internal report within the LAPD and Los Angeles County DCFS which showed the DCFS had cleared Jackson early on of unfounded molestation charges from the Chandlers, and later from the Arvizos in 2003.[59][60]
Reports vary on whether or not the photographs of Jackson corroborated with Chandler's allegations. Reuters reported that an unidentified source informed them on January 27, 1994 that "photos of Michael Jackson’s genitalia do not match description given by the boy",[45][46] which was reported in USA Today on January 28.[47][48]
According to private investigator Anthony Pellicano who questioned Jordan in July 1993 after hearing Evan's taped phone call, Jordan denied that he ever saw Jackson's body but said he did lift his shirt once to show him the blotches on his skin.[6] At the behest of a grand jury, investigators made a probe into Jackson's history, including familial interviews, to see if he had any surgeries or procedures done to alter his body's appearance as the jury felt there was a lack of a clear match with Jordan Chandler's description.[58]
The trial is special because it actively attempts to avoid relying on media sensationalism, sticking to the facts instead. I am not sure why you persist to see the mighty LAPD as some sole-deciding arbitrator for the entire trial.
Joan Rivers was funny. Her outrageous humour was an early version of what we'd now call trolling
The MJ case was the perfect source for sensationalism with documented cases of deliberate misrepresentation of his claims.
Yeah, the media was definitely sensationalizing. Without a doubt. Hopefully it didn't effect judgement within the court system in any respect. But it probably did.

Well I acknowledge that Jackson was cleared within the legal system. No dispute there.

Unidentifed source? More trustworthy than a DA and the photographer of said photos?
the DA stated his belief in a sworn affidavit that the description was accurate, along with the sheriff's photographer stating the description was accurate.

According to private investigator Anthony Pellicano who questioned Jordan in July 1993 after hearing Evan's taped phone call, Jordan denied that he ever saw Jackson's body but said he did lift his shirt once to show him the blotches on his skin.[6]
So according to this PI, Jordan said he didn't see anything other than some blotches on MJ's chest? Did Jordan then deny that he said this to the PI? I'm assuming he denied such a thing. The PI can't be trusted on his word alone.
At the behest of a grand jury, investigators made a probe into Jackson's history, including familial interviews, to see if he had any surgeries or procedures done to alter his body's appearance as the jury felt there was a lack of a clear match with Jordan Chandler's description.
The jury didn't think there was a clear match. But the photographer and DA disagreed. That's the court system for you. It is based on subjective opinion, though it's set up to be as objective as can be. As for the possible surgery he got, I don't know. Maybe he got surgery. No evidence of that though. I don't think a lack of surgery would be pivotal to the allegation.
The trial is special because it actively attempts to avoid relying on media sensationalism, sticking to the facts instead.
As opposed to most court cases? You're implying the court system is flawed? I agree, it isn't perfect. Anyway... media sensationalism effects people. People trying to counter it's effects may overcompensate and have a less critical eye as a result. It's terrible that sensationalism exists (Hey look what forum I'm in... eh... I like sensationalism for entertainment value... not information.)
I am not sure why you persist to see the mighty LAPD as some sole-deciding arbitrator for the entire trial.
Is that the way I see it? I thought I was dismissing your claim that they couldn't be trusted in that era and that young Jordan did give some convincing evidence.
I know she was a comedian, but a lot of her jokes had this cynicism to them that just felt malicious and hateful.
that's because she was malicious and hateful
rest in piss
's never fun to laugh/cheer at someone's death, as there are surely someone mourning her. Despite her opinions and retorts that she made in life, I as one offer condolences to those she left behind.
I know she was a comedian, but a lot of her jokes had this cynicism to them that just felt malicious and hateful.
Because she was a very hateful person. She was like the ultimate stereotype of a Jewish Mother disregarding or insulting the significant other of their child.
So I guess now it's off to a recycling centre to separate the organics and plastics before the funeral.

Yeah, it's a shitty year. It's probably the shittiest in recent memory. The last time shit was this bleak was '08 when the recession hit.

every year is shitty, obviously when you pile every disaster of the year up together it sounds way worse but im sure.. maybe more obscure examples but people could say the same for last year.

I could honestly crack open a record of major events in any year of the past 50 years and illustrate how it was a shitty year with that kind of generalizing bundling-together of bad events.
