Very few people abuse their comedian status as a "license" to be a terrible human being, but Rivers was one of them.

It's right to say their credibility wasn't 100% in that era. But zero credibility? That's hyperbole. And yes, it is possible that it was all a conspiracy on the LAPD's part. But I'm not going to believe it was a conspiracy so lightly.

The jury didn't think there was a clear match. But the photographer and DA disagreed. That's the court system for you. It is based on subjective opinion, though it's set up to be as objective as can be. As for the possible surgery he got, I don't know. Maybe he got surgery. No evidence of that though. I don't think a lack of surgery would be pivotal to the allegation.
