“At that speed, it would go right into a car,” he said.
I think it could "go right into a car" at 20MPH too...
vehicle safety veterans of fp 2012 no speeding down a crowded highway at 300km/h whilst endangering your own life and the lives of others allowed
FTFY
There's a reason why nurses, doctors and the like call bikers "Mobile Organ Depots"
There wouldn't be much left of this bloke's organs if he had crashed :v: "Mobile Soup Dispenser" would be more accurate.
Some people just enjoy the rush you get from doing things like this, I wouldn't necessarily call them stupid for it. His burst at 1:22 and on was killer.
If you want to be a retard and disregard your own safety, that's fine, don't disregard everyone else's safety too with your stupid actions. Other people in this world would actually like to live their lives too, believe it or not.
At first I was like, fucking idiot... then I saw the video..... fucking idiot but god damn bravo, the amount of balls it takes to weave like that and the skill is just remarkable! like god damn....
The guy can't even hold a line round the bends and his bike control is shockingly bad, you could get a bus through the gaps he's driving through. My guess is he's not long passed his bike test, very little skill shown here for those that are praising his riding. Dead man walking.

Now if only he was doing that a little further down the road... Also, the guy's a moron for doing this, it's near-impossible to judge what another driver might do. especially with some of the drivers around here. He's very very lucky he got through it in one piece.
Maybe he's trying to make himself age slower by travelling very fast. Probably not.
Actually, moving really fast does slow down time, if Cracked.com is to be considered reliable
Not supporting anything of what he's doing, but the guy PROBABLY knew what he was doing. Just saying.
Doesn't have shit on ghost rider
What's that speed in real units?
He must love to play tribes so much that he decided to go fast in real life.
That right there, is living
funny that most road fatalities are of motorcyclists [editline]19th April 2012[/editline]
What's that speed in real units?
83 ms^-1
Not supporting anything of what he's doing, but the guy PROBABLY knew what he was doing. Just saying.
His skill with handling the bike is irrelevant. He had no way to know if a driver was going to suddenly pull into his lane, not realizing he was there. His reckless driving not only put his life in danger, but put other people's safety at risk as well, and that is completely inexcusable. He is not driving on his personal racetrack, he is driving on public roads and unnecessarily putting other people in danger. There is no legal or ethical defense for his actions.

Holy shit that is like almost 190 miles per hour. If someone did one wrong move he would have no time to react or brake and would just be a flying rag-doll down the highway. I understand that people like to race and push their bikes to the limit but don't do it on a busy highway or any highway for that matter. It is irresponsible and dangerous.
Talk about tempting fate...
wow since when was facepunch so responsible lol u guys are responsible nerds that shit was cool as fuck
wow since when was facepunch so responsible lol u guys are responsible nerds that shit was cool as fuck
Uh, driving safe on a public road is not being a nerd. If this was on a test track, then yeah props to him, but he put a lot of the line. I got a buddy that rides motorcycles and he was hit at 30MPH and ended up in the hospital for a few days, imagine wrecking at 190MPH. You wouldn't survive, and the only thing that saved my buddy is a helmet.
I kinda wish he did pass a cop, just to see what would happen. Traffic looked too thick and he was going so fast, I don't think the cop would even bother trying to chase him, it's just too dangerous.
The cop would report it start chasing him then say fuck, hes gone.
It just looks like the speedo is locked at 299, and won't go higher, the RPM keeps getting higher and it's still stuck at 299. He definitely went faster, probably like 310.
All it needs is one person to make a lane switch without a signal. *poof* and everyone dies.
They got him.
Police say they have identified the rider of a motorcycle who uploaded a video of himself to YouTube travelling at speeds close to 300 kilometres an hour, while weaving in and out of traffic on a busy highway outside of Victoria, B.C. The rider is thought to be a 25-year-old man, who is unlicensed and has 25 infractions under his belt, Saanich Police Sgt. Dean Jantzen told the National Post. Police have seized a blue Yahama motorcycle in relation to the case, which Jantzen says police experts are “100% positive” is the bike in question. The owner of the motorcycle — an Esquimalt, B.C. woman — faces three charges under the B.C. motor vehicles act, with fines nearing $1,500. Jantzen says the woman is the mother of the suspected rider. Police are pursuing charges against the man but say at this time they do not have enough to go to the Crown with. The suspect is not cooperating with police. He was due to speak with investigators Wednesday but missed the appointment. Jantzen is urging members of the public to come forward with evidence, as it is believed the suspect may have bragged about his exploits. The video called “Victoria highway run 299km” was posted to YouTube on April 8 by user Joe Blow. It’s been seen nearly 250,000 times as of this post. Police were able to trace the IP address of the user, but Jantzen said it was a tip from the public and old-fashioned police work that led them to the bike. “The public was outraged,” Jantzen said, noting motorcycle groups were especially displeased.
**SOURCE**

I heard of another guy doing these kinds of speeds. he didn't realise he was even in a police chase until they caught up with him when he stopped for petrol.
edit - oops
The person riding the motorcycle in that video needs to have their license removed. He should not be allowed to drive on public roads.
After watching the video I have to say as a bike rider I'm not against someone being a little naughty and going over the speed limit when it's like 60km on a road you can safely do 200 on but this guy was definitely an idiot. 30-40 seconds, that shit was hairy and he definitely wasn't just risking his own life there.
It's great that they caught him, if it's proven to be him. The person riding the motorcycle in that video needs to have their license removed. He should not be allowed to drive on public roads.
Read it again, it says he's unlicensed. They can't exactly take away something he doesn't have :v:.
Incarcerate his ass then.
