President Obama Beats President-Elect Trump in Gallup's Annual Most Admired Man Poll
The results are in! For the ninth year in a row, Americans are most likely to name President Barack Obama as the man they most admire, according to Gallup's annual poll.
Obama, who was named most admired man by 22 percent of respondents, edged out President-elect Donald Trump for the honor. Trump came in second at 15 percent.
For the 15th consecutive year, and a record 21st time overall, former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was named most admired woman. Since her first win in 1993, Clinton has topped the list every year with three exceptions: in 1995 and 1996 when she finished behind Mother Theresa, and in 2001 when she finished behind then-first lady Laura Bush. "Gallup's Most Admired Man poll is rigged and fraud! President O is no where near as admired as I am! Sad!"
It'll be interesting to see how he does in the next Gallup poll, once he's President. US Presidents usually win the most admired man award but I don't see that happening with someone as controversial as Trump.

I think the only way there could be a president more hated than trump is if clinton won instead. I wouldn't piss on either of them if they were on fire
not hard to do. trump may be president but he is not exactly well loved
Why not just change this to "Most Admired Male/Female Politician".
If it was really about the person rather than the position, Elon Musk would have been voted in by a landslide.

Considering the pope came in third, I don't think that's the issue here.
Obama's legacy will likely be greater and definitely will be more positive than Trump's.

elon musk is not particularly well known outside specific niche communities such as the one we are currently in
Sad, low energy gallop, more like a trot!

Obama is going to be long remembered as a president people liked.
i find it bizarre how hillary clinton keeps winning this but she can't win the presidency

I guess some people actually like her?
She probably rigged it lol, its what she does.
Gallup is one of the more neutral and accurate pollsters out there. Joking aside, she was the most talked-about woman in the US all year, so no surprise there.
The fact that Ellen wasn't #1 proves this poll is a sham

What did Ellen do to warrant such standing?
Hillary used to be really well liked as SoS as well. People's opinions towards her are weird.
It also probably has to do cause there's a decently sized amount of people who consistently like her.
I wonder if Trump will get it next year, cause it would be hilarious if Obama won it again though unlikely if he's out of the spotlight.

Probably because Ellen is a nice, funny person that has admiral traits and is at least somewhat well known?

It's almost like internet polls are different from national elections..

Hillary is a good politician and a terrible candidate. If you look at her approval ratings over the years, they drop significantly whenever she's running for public office - whenever she's a figure in the public's eye. But once she's in office, they climb back up.
She has too many skeletons in her closet to be in the public's view much. And she's faced a number of intentional and focused smear campaigns - Hillary: The Movie being one, which led to the Citizens United decision, and the Benghazi investigations being another, because they never even found any degree of guilty or culpability after like a dozen GOP-packed congressional hearings. She's got a ruined public image, sometimes true, sometimes false, and that makes it tough for her to sit under public scrutiny for long.
But she's almost definitely done with politics now, so, doesn't matter much anymore.

I'm unimpressed by politically active talk show hosts, personally.

And that's just fine, but the whole point of the poll is that it's opinionated, so if you ask someone why X deserves to be on there, it's because that was their choice. If you don't care for that type of person, why ask in the first place?

I was genuinely asking. I didn't know much about her, then I read about her, and found out that there wasn't much to know.

Ah, that's my bad. I misunderstood it as being snarky but that was the fault of my own interpretation, sorry. Yeah she's basically a lady who does a TV talk show and stars in some stuff.
How the fuck is Trump more admired than the Pope?
How the fuck is Trump more admired than the Pope?
Absolutely massive cult of personality, and the majority of his support base is evangelical Protestants who weren't so keen on the whole Pope thing in the first place.
can we petition a chess match between them
