A well placed hammer to the right[and left] side of the door knob will generally offset the locking mechanism and allow someone to just kick it in.

I guess Dead Bolts are more common in the UK for locking bathrooms or something.

I've never seen a deadbolt on any doors on house aside from the frontdoor, and from having my bike stolen, people usually just toss bricks through the window.

I've literally never heard of an interior door in north america, outside of 3 plus million dollar homes, with deadbolts on bathrooms.

This is similiar to my door knobs, on the other side of this is a push lock that locks the door. It's about as effective as some scotch tape at locking doors. It can be kicked down(I know this from experience having kicked my own door down before) quite easily and can be picked with a butter knife or a clotheshanger or a paper clip simply by poking it.
To my knowledge, this is common in a lot of house holds.
Do you think you would feel safe behind that?
And you don't think 50 independent nations wouldn't want to kill each other on a daily basis? I mean the main motive for war is generally food and land, get rid of either and bloodshed is inevitable.
who said anything about 50 independent nations? do you know what new england is? that's one nation made up of 6 former states
If you're going to have to hide the guns (Ban of high cap mags and assault weapons) Then it's time to start using them...
You know I sometimes wonder if the people who make these threats of overthrowing the government actually consider the social and economic ramifications of rebellion/civil war. Seems some of these people think they can just grab a gun and kick down the door of the White House, and everything will be sunshine and rainbows.
I think if the shit truly hit the fan, a lot of people might not be so willing to stare down a professionally-trained military. How willing are these people to shoulder the cost of their fellow countrymen?
It's an interesting train of thought.
Something everyone should take note of.
I'll never understand what these people are thinking by threatening war.
U.S. government has satellites, F-22a's, Nukes, and most importantly, Drones; militias have no chance of winning a revolutionary war these days. I know why the 2nd Amendment was created, but it's sadly an outdated law that won't make a difference in this technological age. What good would an Assault Rifle do if a Drone controlled/programmed by anyone on a remote island could drop a bomb on them.

"Nukes" ahahahha.
also fighting a civil war on your own land isn't about winning it's about not losing. (take a look at Syria) Eventually the military runs out of resources. but honestly this subject about revolting is just dumb the only way for one to work here is if branches of the military side with the people. But please lets not discuss revolution...

You're in a thread where revolution was being discussed. Why would we avoid the subject of the thread?

Oh yeah lets nuke the infrastructure of the country we want to rule and abuse that makes a whole shit ton of sense.
also, those weapons are operated by american citizens, not robots or braindead lackeys or evil people.
(take a look at Syria).
Syria wasn't even a 1st world country with any Nukes, I won't expect a no fly zone being enforced when differences of aircraft within the same generation can greatly affect a war and the F-22a is the only 5th generation fighter in service in the world right now, plus it'd probably be in Europe's best interest to not go against the U.S. government. The mere existence of Nukes also causes another international factor that makes other countries less willing go against the government and possibly be in their favor (fear of them being used, fear of revolutionaries getting a hold of them, fear of and effects of them being sold, a lot of other factors that I don't know that would be very important to other countries), it also causes a psychological factor on the citizens. During the later stages of Apartheid in the South African government, the trade embargo on South Africa just made them decide to sell their (some nuclear) weapons to Israel, so even if their was a trade embargo on America, I just see the American government getting more powerful in such a situation.
Plus Utah of all places? If that state went rogue it wouldn't affect us that much as say Texas or even Nevada.

You're underestimating the military and what human beings can do. Last I heard there are citizens still being killed by soldiers in North Korea. Last I heard the Zetas Drug Cartel is still the most powerful force in Mexico that continues to behead witnesses. The Rwandan Genocide actually happened. Could have sworn Nazi Germany actually existed during World War II. Soviet Union used to kill their own soldiers under Stalin.
The U.S. Government has done assassination before, this isn't new.
Also Drones do count as robots.

My point was more on the line that shit would go bad real fast.
