I pirated the 2nd game and loved it so much that I ended up buying it and the first one. I'll buy this the moment I can because I know it will deliver and be worth the full price even though I'd just have to wait a few months to get it for $5
I thought they had said this before?
They had some small DRM for like a week or two after launch, after which it was removed, that's what the "there have been some concerns regarding DRM and previous legal issues with The Witcher 2" referred to, I believe.
watch the sales fucking skyrocket and leave companies like EA scratching their heads
They'll tear their hair out looking at the games production costs and profits.
Didn't a huge number of people pirate The Witcher 2? I thought I heard something about CDPR getting mad about that.
It really sucks PC has so many pirates. I remember seeing a tweet from some indie dev that only 4% of players playing their game had legally acquired it. This is why so many companies see pc gaming as a joke.
It's a sad day when a game is celebrated because it DOESN'T have DRM.
I do wish them all the luck in the world though, game looks absolutely great.
Interesting decision, but very risky considering past attempts from other developers, World of Goo had a piracy rate of 90% when they did a stunt like this.
Even though the guys at World of Goo didn't get pissed off, the budget for this game is much bigger and the damage could be bigger too.

I hope it doesn't backfire on them. If publishers like EA are watching this game and this backfires, it'll pretty much prove their stance on DRM
I should totally get on The Witcher 1 but I hear it aged like shit.

its not like they're going to stop with DRM anyways any time soon.

Gameplay and the first few chapters are tedious but it's still a pretty cool fantasy setting and story.
A game can use steamworks without having to use the steam DRM, gurls
Watch this game sell well. Then EA and Ubisoft can officially take their heads out from their asses.
even if ea and ubi remove their drm nobody will care because their reputation has nothing on cdprojekt's.
