Joe Biden: "Yeah, I am. I am going to run in 2020"
I like Biden personally and agree with a lot of his politics but I don't see Democrats winning in 2020 without a solid populist candidate and I really don't see Biden in that role. Unless of course Trump's presidency is a clusterfuck trainwreck in which case presumably anyone can run against him.
Well, the general attitude of American voters this year was pretty similar to how it was in 1976. They wanted an anti-establishment candidate, or at least someone that wasn't tied to any presidential administrations (due to Watergate). That's why we got Carter. I feel like Trump is probably going to go the same way. The majority of people will most likely realize during his presidency that he has zero clue how to run the country, and he'll probably be out after one term, just like how President Carter was. Like you said, in that situation, the Democrats could get basically anyone.
"For president. And also, you know so, what the hell man, anyway."
This is depressing to read. Plenty of VPs have died far younger than him. I really doubt he expects it to go anywhere. I wish we'd known how cool this guy was back in 2008.
I think it's pretty wrong to say nobody liked Hillary. If nobody liked Hillary she wouldn't have won the popular vote.
If there's anything this election has shown me, it's that you don't have to like a candidate to vote for them.
It would have to be a New New Deal Coalition, all the southern democrats who were part of the New Deal are now Republicans.

At the end of the primaries there were still voters who had no idea who Sanders was because of a lack of coverage by media stations- the infamous Bernie Blackout. I dare you to say she got as many votes as she did without needing to rely on her Clinton name recognition- most specifically with older voters who distinctly remember the first Clinton administration and probably don't care much for her actual policies.

Clinton campaign had a coverage of 121 minutes to Sanders 20 minutes throughout 2015. Are you going to tell me that even without coverage, which is a absolute requirement to get recognition and voters, Sanders should've been able to pull in more voters than Clinton?
In the last half of the primaries coverage may have started to equalize between the two but the damage was done. He excelled in states like Washington where the youth population was large and social media dominated the flow of information and coverage where as more traditional southern democrat states had a much more older population who followed network news rather than social media.
When the polls were showing he performed stronger against every GOP candidate more than Hillary was, especially among independent voters, yet most of these polls received little to no coverage.
Turnout would've been much, much higher had he been the nominee.
I'm with you. I think she would've won if it was Clinton/Sanders over Clinton/Kaine

Clinton/Sanders would've been a god awful ticket and weaken the party in Congress.
He is an democrat leaning independent but he is needed in Congress, the VP has no power whatsoever other than to act as a tie breaker once every thousand years. He has the ability to reach across the aisle and is needed to help mold and guide the next generation of congressional leadership for the democrats.
He would be completely wasted as the VP.
If the DNC hasn't learned their lesson, then I at least hope the voting public has.
Kanye'd run republican if his current choice of candidate is anything to go by.
With how much pull Kanye has by name alone (even more than Trump could ever hope for, practically locking down all young voters), I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Kanye just made his own party.
The Yeezus Party.
The real question is, who would his running mate be?
