Final turnout is now projected at around 74%, which would make it the lowest in almost 50 years. Although many countries, such as the US/UK, would give their left nut to get turnout that high :v: [editline]7th May 2017[/editline] Many media orgs have reportedly been banned from the National Front's results party/funeral
Bit dishonnest of you, here's the thing that tweet was in response to:
Sans oublier POLITICO! J'ai demandé mardi, tjrs accrédité auparavant, D Rachline me dit "pas de place" malgré mes protestations
Which basically translates to:
Without forgetting POLITICO! I asked on Tuesday, always having been previously licensed, D Rachline told me that there wasn't enough place, despite my protests
Basically saying that they weren't given a press pass because the event was full. Would hardly say they were banned.
When's the exit polls
Exit polls are banned in France
Why the fuck wouldn't you vote in an election like this that quite probably decides the fate of the EU. Some peoples apathy is beyond me.
a lot can change in five years in that time, trump will complete his term as president and britain will have left the EU. if both of those turn out to be failures they too could discredit the rightwing populism that's current right now
What if the EU manages to do even worse, as in completely blowing it on protecting their outer borders again while people like Juncker keep being in charge despite being as disconnected from the average European citizen as it could be?
Exit polls are banned in France
How odd. Why is that?
How odd. Why is that?
To not influence people's vote? Actually a good idea in my opinion - people shouldn't go "oh my candidate's losing anyway" or "oh my candidate is winning, might as well stay home".
Four pollsters say Macron has won 63% or greater of the vote.
Exit polls are banned in France
I couldnt imagine living in a reasonable democracy like this
Four pollsters say Macron has won 63% or greater of the vote.
lets hope this is true we as people should not be swayed by idiotic populist rhetoric
I couldnt imagine living in a reasonable democracy like this
Trust me we are as critical of our voting system that you american are of yours. It is better, but still not perfect.
Four pollsters say Macron has won 63% or greater of the vote.
Let's go boys, I'm ready to choke on some centrist neoliberal dick. I'll postpone social democracy if it means we can keep out a couple of fascists trying to trample on the values of all of Western society.
Four pollsters say Macron has won 63% or greater of the vote.
Please let this be true.
Exit polls are only banned until the polls close, at which moment they'll be released. Many countries have laws like this and in the US, media organisations generally observe the same practice voluntarily to avoid influencing the vote
I find it fascinating how it's the 21st century and compulsory/mandatory voting is still not a thing
I find it fascinating how it's the 21st century and compulsory/mandatory voting is still not a thing
terrible idea people need to form their own opinions
I find it fascinating how it's the 21st century and compulsory/mandatory voting is still not a thing
What about individuals who truly hate both candidates?
I find it fascinating how it's the 21st century and compulsory/mandatory voting is still not a thing
I find it fascinating you think it is progressive to force people to vote.
terrible idea people need to form their own opinions
Sure, but your decision decides how a country turns out. You have no right complaining 'Oh no! the one nobody wants got into power, and everything is worst' When you decide not to make that decision. Look at the past, Brexit, US elections, and potentially this, we all get people whining how the voter turn out was less than expected, and 'If everyone had voted, the polls would had been right!' Alot of young people aren't bothered enough to make such a important decision because many feel that politics are not something that affects them, hence you end up with old farts who think 'foreigners stealing jobs' are worrisome so they make that decision to go with the populist. I am speaking from the viewpoint of my country, things might be different elsewhere, but I am bloody glad we have a mandatory voting system. You live in the country, its important you make the decision how a country turns out. You might call it draconian for all I care, but I rather have this then a person nobody wants.

Le Monde forcefully condemns this attitude which does not allow proper coverage of a major democratic moment and shows a poor interpretation of press freedom. In solidarity with the media concerned, we have decided we will not be present at this election evening event. This decision will not prevent us from covering the Front National to the same journalistic standards.
Countdown just ended, estimates says Macron with 66.1%
As expected, Macron won with 65%, MLP got 34% Waiting on blank and null votes number, because they are rumored to be high
Thank you France for managing to not out-retard both the US and the UK.
As expected, Macron won with 65%, MLP got 34%
good riddance to moron le penis, France voted for the right person
Fuck yeah ! Eat shit Le Pen !
We did it, boys.
Hope this shuts up those annoying alt-right retards now.
As expected, Macron won with 65%, MLP got 34% Waiting on blank and null votes number, because they are rumored to be high
About 25% of registered voters didn't show up at all. Supposedly if you add up the null and blank votes it goes up to 33% of registered voters who just didn't bother picking.
hell yeah 2017 is shaping up good
Isn't that only the projected reults. They should be accurate though.
