man the cogs were assholes and the raids were super fun
what is there to even do in club penguin? all it looks like it you sit around as a penguin and talk your ass off, whereas toontown had at least SOME gameplay, even if it wasnt all that in-depth and a kids game, it was still fun for what it was
i guess kids mostly care about the social aspect of it
I have never heard of this.
i guess kids mostly care about the social aspect of it
club penguin's chat filter is anal as shit, it's basically a whitelist with like 20 words in it. it doesn't tell you if your message gets filtered either, so there's no way to tell if anyone can even see what you just said.

Uhm there are tons of minigames in Club Penguin, I actually just tried it and apparently they have done quite a bit with the agent missions since I last played like 4 years ago, they actually have a whole new agent program and stuff, and more elitist clothing to get. They also removed some of the best locations. And added a highway.
Wow, this was my childhood. I saw adverts for it on TV and thought it looked awesome. I begged for ages and my parents bought me an account for a year. It was really fun and I still think about it sometimes. Every single week a part of my childhood just dies..

Well at least you have Disney Infinity to look up to
I feel old, i remember trying to get in the beta for this but didn't really understand how to back then. Don't think i even had an email
NOOO WHERE WILL I GET MY TOON AMV'S?
Aw man, this was such a great game Dunno but America, but in Britain, when toontown began, we used to get monthly newsletters with posters, badges, etc sent to the house. We got a big chart of the COG enemies, heights, classes, etc. It was great, Buying gags and whatnot.
When I saw the first toontown commercials, I thought it was dumb, switched to video 2 and played smash bros. for the rest of the day.
Guess it's time to pay Master Von one last visit.
hahah holy shit I remember just playing the 3 day trial over and over by registering new accounts
The day kid MMOs will die is the day Habbo shuts down.
This was probably one of the last remaining MMOs from the early 2000s. There's still Runescape and EVE Online, but MMOs aren't as popular as they used to be.
the cogs won
Time for one last visit to my childhood.
"oh no"
And I can't sign up. Damn. ... damn. I don't remember my old account...
There goes a part of my childhood...
Yo! Who wants to friend up on the game?
It really sucks that they're abandoning such a great game for Club Penguin. Seriously, back in the 6th grade I tried it out and I found no appeal. It was literally nothing but waddling around and chatting and playing boring mini-games... but hey, I guess it makes a better profit than Toontown and all the other MMO's they're shutting down on the same day, so of course Disney is going to push it and choose it over those games. oh well, it's really sad to see it go after all this time. I actually got my mom into playing this game and she somehow got addicted and became a higher level than me :v:
the first mmo i ever played [editline]22nd August 2013[/editline] it sucked ass, let's be honest
Why would Disney shut down my childhood for a bunch of fucking penguins?
Well at least you have Disney Infinity to look up to
I got a chance to play it the other day I liked it, seemed pretty decent especially for kids.
Disney did something similar to a game that was a huge part of my childhood, it was called Virtual Magic Kingdom. Even though it was co-developed by Sulake and it had many similarities to Habbo Hotel, the visuals were amazing, as well as the games. It lasted about three years (Way longer than it should have), but got closed to move the staff to either some Cars online game or some Tinkerbell/Pixie game. It's a shame, too; That Pirates of the Caribbean game was addictive as hell.
Guys. Guys. [sp]This game is older than WoW.[/sp] Babby's first MMO indeed.

There's an offline version of VMK somewhere and iirc the Pirates game is still on it. You can walk around most of the public rooms and everything, too. It's kind of haunting I think there's a standalone version of the Pirates game floating around out there as well
