Tbh I am on her side not the cyclists if you want to cycle everywhere go to the dutch or china. This is Britain and the British roads were build for car usages so naturally you will become ran over if you are on the roads cycling.
The only thing I think of here is: Where the fuck is THE DUTCH?
Good. Cars do not have the right of way dumbass, bikes come before you, and pedestrians before them. And I don't even want to know about how she can think hitting anyone is okay anyway, that's just not cool. That being said, I do hate cyclists that abuse their road privileges. It's one thing to be cycling, its another to have you and your buddy going 10mph, 2 across, on a very windy and narrow road. It's almost like you're asking to be hit, nobody can freaking see you then...
Scum.
She shouldn't be allowed near a steering wheel ever again.
She shouldn't be allowed near a vehicle ever again period literally not allowed to even be a passenger her brain is so shriveled that a meth addict has better ideas than her

Oh, it's this cyclist. I've watched some of his videos. Most of him are just being an irresponsible douchebag and yelling at drivers for almost hitting him when they had the right of way
I'm confused why do people hate cyclists so much?
I'm ok with cyclists, but in some countries (Germany *cough*) they tend to just cross the street without looking (they have those roads for bicycles but they still have to cross the road the same way as pedestrians, so they usually tend to scare drivers because at least in Germany, if you hit a cyclist it's your fault even if they didn't look when crossing.
I really wish some drivers would allow a little extra distance when driving past me, most drivers have the sense to overtake me when I'm in the middle of the road but as soon as I enter the cycle lane they stop giving me any distance and I feel as though I'm cycling on a tightrope ready to fall off either from hitting the curb or their vehicle not to mention I fear giving a hand signal in case they try to dismember my arm then chuckle about it to their colleagues at work later that day. Other than that, yeah cycling is a blast.

Cyclists have equally as much right of way on roads, but I think there needs to be caution on both sides. Cyclists can't just think that the cars will avoid them so they can do whatever they want within the law. Drivers should be aware that there are cyclists on the sometimes and they need to be observed equally as much as any other car. Cyclists aren't just squirrels to hit and cars aren't obstacles to weave around. I've observed several roads that have dedicated bike lanes, should probably have more of these to allow them use of the road but not potentially interfere in regular traffic.
On that mater rule breakers don't limit themselves to cyclist. I generally have to wait a week to cross a roundabout safely as a cyclist as NOBODY uses there indicators when exiting while IT IS a law here (getting pissed off and just taking the chance ends in nice horn like sound most of the time).
In my experience about 90% of drivers anywhere seem to be completely ignorant to the existence of turn signals.
newsflash: the world doesn't revolve around you In regards to article
What an ass. Though improper infrastructure is the reason cyclists are involved in so many accidents. Where I live there are dedicated pedestrian/cyclist lanes in most places, cyclists rarely if ever have to share roads with cars. Though I suppose there are always douchnozzles who will insist on unsafely mixing with car traffic. I wouldn't hesitate to say I'm among the faster of the daily commuters who travel along my route, and I frequently find myself being passed while waiting at red lights by people who were playing catch-up with me. I habitually stop at any red light even when I judge there is no trouble. Only exception being when I'm riding home late at night and there's not a single car visually or audibly present nearby.
One of my friends was cycling when some woman slowed down and drove her car next to him so her toddler son could point a laser pointer in his eyes. Don't think it's only ever cyclists who are assholes, drivers constantly forget to indicate and speed around here
I was once played the Rocky theme along side a cyclist at crazy high volume. Shit was mad epic It pisses me off when we get heavy amount's of cyclists practising for the Iron Man Triathlon. They don't keep to single file and end up taking whole lanes causing these huge convoys of pissed of drivers.
It honestly scares me that there are people out there that are completely incapable of feeling empathy for others.
I thought pedestrians/cyclists ALWAYS had the right of way?
All I came in here to say. I don't know how it works in Timey-Wimey Bongland, but in the US, pedestrians and lesser forms of locomotion (horse-drawn carriages, for example) trump everything, followed by cyclists, followed by cars.
I don't like cyclists when: The run stop signs They run lights When they ride side-by-side When they are in the middle of the road But if they go single file along the side of the road (or even better, use the bike lane for once) then they're awesome and I have no problem. But who actually hits somebody? Then BRAGS about it?
I've seen motorists do all of those things yes, even the side-by-side one
If people wants to cycle then they should know the risks of cycling on the British roads which are designed for motor vehicles. And accept full responsibility for any damages sustain while doing something so stupid. If I went to india foolishly driving a small car and it got crushed and I got injured, then I would be at fault because the roads there are designed for elephants. That's basically what the cyclists are doing but they think they are in the right. They have never heard of the phrase "When in Rome"
Hold on have you just moved on from stupidity to plain racism? Bikes belong on the road.
People who drive cars seem to lack alot of knowledge about bikes. Bikes are supposed to be treated as a vehicle, such as, you can't overtake them if they're in the middle of the road.
#vehicularhomicide LOL
Some cyclists have blatant disregard for normal road rules though, it happens more often then not here in the Netherlands that someone crosses the road without sticking out his hand, and almost getting run over as a result. Also, the cyclists who don't drive with their lights on at night are the absolute worst, this also happens a lot.
Honestly I can see where the hate is coming from personally, I walk to college everyday and I see some pure dicks on bikes. there's this bridge you have to cross to get across to the college grounds. Legally cyclists are not allowed on the footpath, but since these are college cyclists they are the worst, I was walking through the bridge one morning and seen a cyclist mount the footpath at stupid speed as usual to overtake a car in a jam he went straight into an old lady knocking her and himself over. When he got up he went straight to his bike first. I was speechless. Horror story aside, and the fact that my college breeds some true wastes of air. If you hit a cyclist you are in the wrong, as in all the rules of the road. Cyclists belong on the road and as such they follow the rules of the road. Tweeting a hit and run like it was nothing then getting a tweet back by police is hilarious almost in parody territory, airhead.
I'm confused why do people hate cyclists so much?
Dumb-ass drivers who need to roadrage at something. They're just too pathetic to admit their own driving skills suck, so they lash out.
I've seen motorists do all of those things yes, even the side-by-side one
Surely cars are supposed to be in the middle of the road? I would imagine what you saw when 2 cars were side by side was what we call a " overtaking manoeuvre " This is where a car may go around and in front of another vehicle when safe to do so. It is a temporary state and is not permanent  Unlike the teams of 20 cyclists I see yearly take up the entire lane going along at a snails pace not allowing anybody to overtake. That's not to say I'd hit one, I always allow single file cyclists 2 metres as per law and only overtake when it's safe. I'm pretty sure he was talking about dumb drivers, not all drivers.
Dumb-ass drivers who need to roadrage at something. They're just too pathetic to admit their own driving skills suck, so they lash out.
Driving takes a lot of training and money to invest in a car and a license, a bicycle does not. So why the devil should we all assume the actually educated people are always the ones that have bad driving skills? No. I obey traffic laws, I hate cyclists because they're uneducated schmucks who more often than not lack common sense, common goddamn courtesy, and respect for pedestrians and other drivers. I respect other people while driving, but I reserve my right to be angry about assholes who don't, and cyclists are recurring offenders just as much as other drivers if not more.
thats an good point though cyclists shouldnt be on roads if they dont pay the tax
