PC? ☑ PS4? probably Xbox? ☒
I was considering buying a console to play some exclusives and not have to upgrade, guess not anymore Thanks Microsoft!
Holy shit 500 guests.
Holy shit 500 guests.
Seems like they are all coming from Facebook.
Remember when I said I don't think Microsoft is THAT stupid. Yeah, I take that back now.
That seems to have been happening more often recently, unless I'm late to the party and this shit's been going on for years. Let's just hope we get at least some quality members out of this. (no offence to the guests, of course)
Damnit I want to know what facebook post is sending everyone here. I don't know why you would link here and not the original article.
What's will all the names of stuff going back to original and why are all designs so simple now, the tile design looks like retina cancer.
why are people getting pissed offed at rumors as if they were cold hard facts? you have every right to be angry when they actually announce details...
Oh for fuck's sake; this bullshit reboot-naming syndrome is infecting consoles TOO? I mean seriously, why give your 8th Generation console the same name as your outdated 6th Generation console? I'd rather they call it 720 or freakin' Durango, anything but naming it after the original; the confusion is going to be insane if they actually stick with "Xbox" as the name for their machine. Now I'm not a consolite, but if I were, I'd be more inclined to get a PS4 this time around. Let's be hoping this fails hard and drives Microsoft out of our gaming race and back into designing operating systems.
Naming the next Xbox just "Xbox" makes the name "Wii U" seem like a brilliant marketing decision, by comparison
I'm crying Microsoft, how could you :(
Greaaaat. Now it'll be even more difficult to search for original xbox shit.
Too true; Wii U might be a silly name, but it at least differentiates itself from the earlier console. Also the whole naming it "Xbox" does seem to smell of smug pride, like thinking their new console is so good it doesn't even need to be represented differently from their first console. Even if there is actual graphical differences between old Xbox and upcoming Xbox, the name leaves the door open for both confusion and jocularity, like people saying "the Xbox is better than the Xbox" or something. I would prefer that they changed it to Durango or 720; probably still silly but not absolutely stupid. Though ideally I'd prefer they keep it, sit around all dopey as people get confused, and end up losing a bunch of consumer confidence when soccer moms end up buying the old Gen6 Xbox for Christmas instead of the marginally-superior Gen8 Xbox.
Day 1, the servers go down because too many people rushed to buy Xboxes.
Hey! EA should make their own console! Great news the pc rises even more. [editline]8th April 2013[/editline] Am I the only one who thought the ps3 being 500$ was damn cheap when it got released, you got so many new technologies with it especially blu-ray of course the xbox 360 was gonna be cheap considering everything in it was cheaper than ps3's hardware. But now I wonder what amazing crap does durango contain over the ps4?
I'm crying Microsoft, how could you :(
Might want to hold the tears until this is officially confirmed, this is still just speculation you know. The article was pretty sneaky about it saying "microsoft analyst" - by that they mean he has nothing to do with the company, he just writes about them :v:
GET FUCKED SONY AND NINTENDO1!1! SONY? MORE LIKE OWNED-Y. NINTENDO? MORE LIKE NINTENDOWNED. xbox 4 lief. [sp]I am totally being totally serious with no sarcasm in any way.[/sp]
GG console war. GG Microsoft.
If the PS4 is going to be under $600 (which I'm sure Sony learned their lesson from the whole FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE US DOLLARS thing 7 years ago) and have PSN remain free, then the PS4 will without a doubt lead the next-gen market. That is, if all of this info on the xbox is true. I guess we need to wait another month and a half.
Way to go Microsoft. My love and fanboyism for Halo cannot hold me as a customer for your consoles. I'm sorry, but I can't purchase the new "Ad and Appbox".
I feel the same. Very smart move for Bungie to start developing for the Play Station.
WELP, now I'm definitely not getting halo 5. Microsoft, you better goddamn change this reaaaal soon. [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] I just hope they announce halo on steam soon. [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] But I'm still not gonna take this as 100% until may 21st
So what if you have a decent connection? Some people don't, seems kinda awful to make a console that fucks over certain people
My wifi drops out like a motherfucker. I can't imagine trying to play games and having it shutdown on me (or whatever happens) whenever my wifi drops.
How long will it take before Blizzard announces Diablo III for Xbox?
How long will it take before Blizzard announces Diablo III for Xbox?
I'm pretty sure they said it was exclusive to Playstation..
That isn't expensive, considering the PS3 was $600+ at one point.
remember how well that was selling for the first 2.5 years since it launched? yeah [editline]8th April 2013[/editline]
Why are they calling this just "Xbox"? do they want people confusing this with the system before the 360?
not even the dumbest person in the world would think that, the original xbox has been sold in stores for almost 6 years (remember MS dropped xbox 1 support immediately)
watch as you have to pay a sub to even turn the damned thing on and when its on ads, ads everywhere
This is the number one thing that has and will never make a single whisper of sense to me. Pay to have multiplayer access sort of vaguely makes some sense, though I think the prices are pretty high. Pay to play with more adds than anything else and actual access behind menus of adds? What the fuck?
confirmed not buying a new xbox

I don't get what the big deal is, it's even very informative at times. Steam does the exact same thing, although whenever you close a game you get prompted with some advertisement.

It's a baffling name for a new console as it sounds like they're trying to reboot the console brand (which is dumb), but you'd have to be really dumb to confuse a heavily advertised next gen console for its considerably cheaper and likely harder to find 6th gen predecessor. Confusing it and the 360 is more likely to happen.

I hardly ever see them. Ads are ads. If I pay like 60 bucks a year or ten bucks a month, I don't want to have to continue seeing a bunch of irrelevant car commercial and occasional game advertisements on every page of the front menu.
