In reality this whole mess is a serious issue, both parties. Unfortunately I got a feeling Chris will take a bullet or two and this will all go away and be business as usual. Disagree all you like but what is actually happening right now? The general consensus here is that the LAPD are infact corrupt and all that's being discussed is Chris's actions rather than what led to his actions, what led to the plight of a man who obviously ran out of rope and how we can fix this. But as usual once this is over, nothing will be done about it by the masses, because it's easier to be a spectator until it effects you.
I wouldn't doubt he tried getting the mainstream media to run his story before all this and they wouldn't give it a time of day because it doesn't fit with their current agenda and what makes money.

too lazy to quote but NIR dyes have been used on american uniforms since the BDU was put into service in '81. every uniform has it and its required by military requirements to have the dyes be NIR- but as Skeea said, you'd still show up clear as day on FLIR. NIR is only used to help you blend in when viewed through night vision, because if the dyes on your clothing aren't NIR compliant they'll literally glow, like some clothes under a blacklight, and take on a whole different color scheme.

How can that be true? It's not like civilian or police choppers emit a drastically lower IR signature than military ones, some of which are equipped with passive IR countermeasures.
