I'd expect by now hopefully that he's fled the area. It would be rather stupid to stay in the same area for days while every person on the force is sweeping back and fourth trying to find you.

Here's a timeline to help everybody get caught up.

Umm, your article says "The photo of Dorner, 33, was taken at an Orange County hotel where he was captured on a surveillance video Jan. 28, police said."
Jan. 28 is almost two weeks ago (12 days). Case closed.

I forgot we're a week into February, my apologies.
Is it bad that I'm kinda rooting for this guy? Now, don't get me wrong: even though he's a GOOD DAMN COP pushed TOO DAMN FAR, I don't condone killing people and if this were an action movie, he'd still be the bad guy (anyone watch Die Hard 4?) But aside from that, I'm more inclined to take his side on this whole matter than the LAPD's.
... And besides, there are far more creative methods to get revenge than murder, all of which are quite legal and potentially much more painful to the target. All this information he claims he has access to under FOIA? The willingness to reveal it as demonstrated in the manifesto? His apparent admiration for Anonymous? You'd think he'd consider trying "elaborate global humiliation" before throwing his life away with the whole "murder" thing. Why kill their loved ones when you can turn everyone they love against them and ruin their careers? Loss of life is a single event. Hate and ruination are continuous. You can't heal a wound that never stops bleeding. Plus, it's legal! You get to remain a living, non-criminal citizen to actually reap the satisfaction you get from destroying their lives! Plus, the whole fact that making the info public and having it verified would kinda clear your name by default.
But yeah, murder? Stop being so righteous, gawd. When you want to punish bad people, you have to think like a bad person and do what they'd do: maximize the amount of utter cruelty you can dish out while keeping yourself squeaky-clean. After all: they've already proven they'd do the same to you! Eye for an eye, right?

I both agree and disagree. I think he needs to be caught to prevent more innocent lives from being lost. But I also feel like the chances of the cops filling up him with bullet holes instead of putting him in jail are too great.
No one deserves to die, and that includes him.
I feel sorry for him in a way. He seemed like an honest, good person and now he's been pushed to the brink of insanity and he's now committing horrifying acts for a personal vendetta.
I think he's got the right idea of purging the force of corruption, but doing so in such a violent manner is the absolutely worst possible way. Innocents are killed, and it severely hurts the message he's trying to send by doing this.
Don't get me wrong, I do not support his methods. There are legal ways of pursuing this goal without hurting anyone.
How can that be true? It's not like civilian or police choppers emit a drastically lower IR signature than military ones, some of which are equipped with passive IR countermeasures.
Less size = less weight = less engine = lower IR signature. The opposite of how the Mi-24 has a massive signature due to how its huge engine vents heat. And I doubt, even if the helicopter were equipped with IR countermeasures, that the crew would be able to react in time. Not without some kind of warning, visual or electronic. I don't know if police helicopters have warning systems for that kind of threat, but if he has an SA-7 he's not going to be firing from max engagement range and out.

I think more people have been killed by the LAPD and surrounding police units during this whole disaster than by Dorner himself.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't want any loss of life either, and especially not his; he seems like a good man. So yeah, while I'm kinda hoping he does what he says he will, I do agree that he should be caught before he does any damage.
But in any case you just reiterated what I said: violence is a bad idea.

The moment he decided it was okay to kill to kill innocent people just to get revenge on someone related to them, he stopped being any better than the people who wronged him. Hay may have been a victim of injustice, but where is the justice for those two people who never didn't anything to hurt him?
I do really hope the LAPD capture him alive so we can hear his words directly from his mouth. However, I don't think that's going to happen after seeing how twitchy the LAPD has been with their guns.

I've already said twice that I don't approve of his methods. Just making the info he had as widely-public and as solidly-backed, as quickly as possible would've pulled off exactly what he hoped to accomplish - revealing the corruption and clearing his own name - and wouldn't have harmed anyone who wasn't involved. Plus, it would still be a method for him to personally take revenge on those who wronged him considering that said information going public would ruin them.

That's if they capture him. He's just seemed to disappear which is a bit odd.

You learn ORM from Civil Air Patrol in which you can become a cadet at 12.

Can someone write a quick summary of what happened in the last day? All I know of is that he shot 3 police officers (I think) and killed one of them, and that the LAPD shot and hospitalized 2 drivers for thinking they were Dorner.

he killed the daughter of a lawyer that was sent by LAPD to represent him in a case, who he felt (justly) was just there to save the LAPD money, not to support him in his case.
uh no
He has killed 4, correct? The LAPD number is very near that. I'm not saying I know but the police have been pretty goddamn trigger happy.
He has killed 4, correct? The LAPD number is very near that. I'm not saying I know but the police have been pretty goddamn trigger happy.
the LAPD hasnt reportedly killed anybody. uhh, reportedly.
they turned a blue pickup truck into swiss cheese but the two women inside were injured and one was recently released from the hospital. there was another case of a black pickup truck disabled and shot up as well, according to a witness in this thread, but i havent seen a report on that.
so... really your guess is as good as anybody else's in terms of what's been reported and what hasn't. but there haven't been reports on any deaths in the hands of the LAPD from this situation.
He has killed 4, correct? The LAPD number is very near that. I'm not saying I know but the police have been pretty goddamn trigger happy.
He's killed 3. LAPD has injured 3.
He's killed 3. LAPD has injured 3.
LAPD killed 2 in the car and 1 injured
There was another injury being reported on Big Bear scanner as a result of the manhunt yesterday, too. Something about a suspect pursuit leading to a collision with a civilian vehicle, then civilian needs medical attention.
LAPD killed 2 in the car and 1 injured
Those two were injured, unless they died earlier.
