Wrong, this was the nurse who answered the call at reception. Another nurse was responsible for disclosing confidential information.
Article doesn't mention suicide anywhere. I'm guessing she died from some medical condition and it's just coincidence that she happened to be the one to take the call.
Because jumping the gun with little to go on would be irresponsible reporting.
wtf did they even do wrong. all they did was impersonate the queen. is there some unspoken thing where if you hear the queen you ust kill yourself?
Oh yeah they only impersonated the head of state then asked personal information about someone whether that person wanted it released or not.
Pffff, big deal!
She didn't commit suicide because of hearing the 'Queen', my best guess is that she did it because of the way staff treated her after.
Not saying it was a suicide for sure, but it's really not that unlikely. The hospital and royal family got very upset at the breach of security. What happens with the royal family is a big deal(whether it should be or not). I mean her wedding broke records in terms of viewers from all over the world. A prank call might not be a big deal. A prank call leading to leaked information is a big deal in itself, but when it's a member of the royal family it becomes even worse.
The death is currently "unexplained" according to police by the way... the BBC article mentions nothing of suicide.
Like what?
I'm sure there is a law or bi-law in Australia or the UK which could be drawn from the books.
From the BBC article:
Scotland Yard said the death was being treated as unexplained and enquiries were continuing.
It could be literally anything
This is all a cover up, reports say that daniel craig was seen leaving the hospital shortly before she was found dead
Guess the nurse knew too much.
I heard about the prank on the radio before this death business. I had no idea how anyone could ever fall for it, honestly.

I feel bad for the radio hosts. Suicide or not, they're already getting flak for this.
Apparently the comments are kicking off on the radio station's website http://www.2dayfm.com.au/the-dirt/blog/mc-and-mels-royal-prank-confession/

iirc the radio station openly apologized for it pretty soon after it happened. Either way, no one meant any harm.

Well, looks like their site is being overloaded. Those hosts must feel awful.

Like prank calling? Such an event like this is completely unforeseeable.
Who makes a prank call thinking that there might be a chance the person on the other end might commit suicide?
iirc the radio station openly apologized for it pretty soon after it happened. Either way, no one meant any harm.
Yeah but just look at any article or youtube video of the prank or this death. People are blaming them for it. I hope they let up soon, I'd hate for the host's lives to be ruined because of this.
She would have lost her job. Losing your job when you're a mother of two is kinda a big deal, who knows what her situation at home was, she could have been seriously struggling and this pushed her over the edge. Disgusting.

really? I'd love to see their lives ruined over this.

They impersonated the Queen of England (poorly) as a joke and now have to live with the guilt of possibly pushing someone to suicide.
I don't feel like they deserve any worse than that.
oh look another title that is blatantly lying
she didn't commit suicide, read the article
The nurse revealed information that was supposed to be confidential
As far as i know she didnt. The article says this:
"A nurse who took the hoax call at the Duchess of Cambridge’s London hospital was found dead today. She had been phoned by two Australian radio presenters and believed she was speaking to the Queen.
The woman then passed the call to a colleague"
She just passed over the call it seems.

She might have been responsible for identifying the caller.
A little like: "Sarah, the phone's for you, it's the Queen."
If that was the case it was more of this nurse's fault rather than the nurse that gave the information but the article doesn't really go that in-depth
Let the conspiracy theories begin, Besides that. It's probably because she thought her life would fall amess. Lose her job, then not have income to pay bills or her rent/mortgage and the shame that she did that in the first place.
I feel bad for the radio hosts. Suicide or not, they're already getting flak for this.
Well what made them think it would be a brilliant idea?
She would've lost her job and possibly license to nurse for revealing personal information.
Well what made them think it would be a brilliant idea?
It was just a prank call. Who would've thought they'd fall for it and actually connect the call without any proof or questioning whatsoever.
CNN is reporting that it is a suicide
She would've lost her job and possibly license to nurse for revealing personal information.
The BBC article says the hospital had no intention of suspending or even disciplining her, and that the palace had made no complaints about the hospital or any of the nurses

Wait, she's a mother of two and she lost her job
But she saw killing herself as some sort of solution to that?
That makes no sense
And you should feel bad.
This is absolutely nobody's fault.
This is absolutely nobody's fault.
I blame society
really? I'd love to see their lives ruined over this.
How exactly do they hold any direct responsibility for this woman's death?
