• Nurse Who Fell For Australian DJ's "Kate Middleton" Prank Call Commits Suicide

Did the two callers actually ask for confidential information? If so, they could actually be connected to her suicide if it was over leaked information and charged.
She's the one who passed the call on, so she probably felt extra stupid. I mean, someone calls up and says they're the Queen and you're reaction is to say okay I'll put you through? She talks to the Queen regularly then does she? So she probably couldn't face her co-workers anymore, even if they were nice about it, because she'd know how dumb they all think she is.
Well, looks like their site is being overloaded. Those hosts must feel awful.
I'm getting 'Page not found' now so they must have deleted it
Maybe she DIDN'T commit suicide, conspiracy! Government coverup!
The queen went out with her murdering gloves and silenced sniper rifle to sort out the classified information
Maybe she DIDN'T commit suicide, conspiracy! Government coverup!
Are you saying that she got Diana'ed?
Christ this turned into way too big of a deal. I feel bad for everyone involved in this clusterfuck. If everyone hadn't decided her saying "she's fine" was so fucking insanely confidential, she'd probably still be alive.
Did the two callers actually ask for confidential information? If so, they could actually be connected to her suicide if it was over leaked information and charged.
What?
Fall for prank, whelp, better kill myself
Did the two callers actually ask for confidential information? If so, they could actually be connected to her suicide if it was over leaked information and charged.
Right lets ruin more peoples lives over a prank call with no malicious intent.
I heard about the prank on the radio before this death business. I had no idea how anyone could ever fall for it, honestly.
the woman that was found dead was the one who put them through, not the one having the conversation. The bint having the conversation about it must have been thick as shit. Coming from the "most highly respected hospital in England" you'd like to they they'd employ people with a few more brain cells.
Right lets ruin more peoples lives over a prank call with no malicious intent.
no one is saying that
Assassination.
the woman that was found dead was the one who put them through, not the one having the conversation. If it's YOUR job to screen callers, and my job is to answer questions from the family, and you pass the call through to me, well then it's not my fault is it? So it depends on their procedures.
The radio station has responded
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) and 2Day FM are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha from King Edward VII’s Hospital and we extend our deepest sympathies to her family and all that have been affected by this situation around the world. Chief Executive Officer Rhys Holleran has spoken with the presenters, they are both deeply shocked and at this time we have agreed that they not comment about the circumstances. SCA and the hosts have decided that they will not return to their radio show until further notice out of respect for what can only be described as a tragedy.

It was just a prank call. Who would've thought they'd fall for it and actually connect the call without any proof or questioning whatsoever.
They should've learned from The Chaser trying to get into APEC with fake security passes while dressed as Osama bin Laden. Aussies pretending to be someone else can get past any security.
The radio station has responded
So it looks like they're going to resign then, I just get the feeling this suicide was just coincidence rather than an actual reason. Whole situation is just odd.

Soulless bastards.
Amazing how unfunny that video is.
So it looks like they're going to resign then
Looking at the comments on it, that would most likely be a wise decision. Lay low for some time from public media until it's practically forgotten.
She's probably getting a lot of flak for what she did.
According to the hospital they were supporting her and she hadn't been disciplined for it. Very odd situation, especially given the fact she was married with children.
I'm thinking foul play. Who the fuck kills themselves over a prank? Especially a nurse, someone who has to deal with life and death every day.
I'm thinking foul play. Who the fuck kills themselves over a prank? Especially a nurse, someone who has to deal with life and death every day.
She could have been dealing with depression for a long time and this tipped her over, or this had nothing to do with it
I'm thinking foul play. Who the fuck kills themselves over a prank? Especially a nurse, someone who has to deal with life and death every day.
Making a mistake like that would probably result in the media ruining your life.
Right lets ruin more peoples lives over a prank call with no malicious intent.
Then they should've thought before doing something that could very well cost someone their job.
Looking at the comments on it, that would most likely be a wise decision. Lay low for some time from public media until it's practically forgotten.
watch out here come the royalists looking for blood
I don't know what kind of privacy laws are in the EU, but if it's anything like HIPAA she would loose her job over this. I would have done the same thing. This is not a prank. This is not funny. I hope the DJ's get jail time for masquerading to gain access to confidential data.
it is a textbook prank doesn't mean it's good though [editline]7th December 2012[/editline]
She could have been dealing with depression for a long time and this tipped her over, or this had nothing to do with it
which is fair nurse being stressed from seeing bad shit is very common after all
watch out here come the royalists looking for blood
Doubt they're the only one's who'd like them to resign, since it wasn't funny to begin with. The fact that it resulted with someone committing suicide over a bad joke is enough to ruin their (radio hosts) reputation.
true, in the UK prank calls are illegal and its even more serious if you take confidential information/impersonate a official/someone. I'm not sure about Australia though.
