Considering I don't live in Japan, this isn't really meaningful to me or my point. The Japanese market is so vastly different to ours that big things like this aren't massively surprising. Sure the games might be mostly region free, but Japanese games aren't what I'm after in the Western market.

How much profit/ loss do Sony make per unit sale? If it's low enough, yeah, stopping piracy (for a while at least) and selling less is probably safer than allowing piracy to run rampant. Sony would need actual game sales to make any meaningful money from the console.
I love my Vita. Dragon's Crown and Persona 4 I've been playing recently and are pretty damn good. It's a fantastic device and there is a decent number of games for it, but it could definitely do with more.
Man, me being a Nintendo fanboy (not a hating one) when i saw the Vita, i was so impressed and thought that would be the 3DS killer for sure. Its a shame that it didnt get the support that it needed.

I have been enjoying the fuck out of the uncharted game on the vita; aswell as playing assassins creed 4 on it which is surprisingly responsive.

Yeah, I don't usually buy Sony products but the Vita looks really good [sp]and i like it better than the ps4 in terms of style[/sp] but without a strong line-up I can't convince myself to buy one
The PSP was popular because it was the 'smartphone' without the 'phone' of that time. You could play games, watch movies, listen to music with a big screen. Then came the smartphone, which could do all of that. I think this could be one of the issues. At least that was how I felt.

If you're not buying one because it doesn't have a strong lineup, you're only perpetuating the problem of it not getting a strong lineup.

I'm still using my good old PSP-1000 for emulation on the go from time to time. Nothing can beat it when it comes to playing old games. Smartphones lack the controls and other handhelds lack the emulators.

There's actually a good number of nice bluetooth controllers for smart phones out now.

i havent played my 3ds in 3 months, the dynasty warriors on the vita is so great
project diva f is pretty good if youre into that kinda stuff, already imported it though so i doubt ill get it a 2nd time on vita
