Getting this too even though it's fine for me.
Youtube's down for me, google's fine.
we are all going to die
It's stuttery. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Even still, incredibly odd, especially for something like Google.
Calling it. They had to take it down momentarily so the NSA could install some snooping hardware. :tinfoil:
I bet people actually believe that.

To be fair it wouldn't surprise me if they did pull a stunt like that in the future.
I mean prior to the whistleblowing people were called paranoid for accusing the government of doing shit that the NSA was actually doing.
I like how minor routing issues somewhere manage to cause a panic reaction like this.
what if one day everything google disappeared
If google goes down what website am I meant to use to check my ping!?
And I had some issues before but everything seems hunkydorry now

This is pretty unprecedented isn't it?
I'd be curious to know what caused the outage

someone was using the unit converter in a way that would output a negative kelvin value
eh, google doesn't operate like most small sites op
larger entities like google are noded, so only in your locale is there a minor issue
everywhere else in the world is fine.
That's not how anycast works. If a PoP goes down then all current sessions will be lost, but new sessions will just be established at the next PoP.

In simpler terms: if you can't connect to google then something is either wrong on your end, every single google datacenter in the world experienced an issue at the same time, or google messed up their DNS entries.

Oh so that's what that was? I was wondering why youtube didn't want to load yesterday.
