• NASA: It's Time to Look for Life on Mars

Awesome. Hope we find some life on mars like water or plants
When it takes a picture of an alien the government will say its a balloon.
Now all we're missing is the ULTOR Corporation to fund future missions, set up a mining operation, and have it overturned by disgruntled miners. Seriously though, this has the potential to be amazing.
Fuck Yeah! I've always wondered what would become of religion if we found alien life. Especially life that is somewhat intelligent.
Probably nothing
Should introduce protein shakes to the little green men
Do meteors/asteroids hit mars frequently?
Awesome, but I thought we confirmed that the planet's all but dead?
Hm. If we do find life on Mars, how would we classify it? Not being of anything Earthly, cold we use the current taxonomic system? Would we need to add another domain or could we fit it into one of the existing ones?
Finally we'll find those Prothean skeletons.
Awesome, but I thought we confirmed that the planet's all but dead?
We also confirmed it was dry as a desert until we found ice-water and possible liquid water droplets. The likely possibility of liquid water not far under the surface has opened the possibility of microscopic life.
I am shocked that I'm the first one to post this.
Now let's take a moment to thank Obama for saving America's space program regardless of what the media says. [editline]08:46PM[/editline] Wait a second, why does the probe have an RTG? (Radioisotopic Thermoelectric Generator) Wouldn't it make more sense to add a couple of photovoltaics with some god-damn wipers?

Ten bucks this is what we find on Mars in the future:
Too bad there's too much radiation for us to survive the trip to Mars.
Too bad there's too much radiation for us to survive the trip to Mars.
Credible source or stop trying to be a buzzkill for mankind.
I call bullshit. The only source is from a website that deals with the "unexplainable" and searching this in Google's news section results in nothing.
it'd surprise me if we COULDN'T find any sort of trace of life at all, considering we've found possible microbes before and the possibility of water at some point. there's certainly got to be something on that hunk of rock.
if they do find life on mars it's probably going to be microbes

"If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn't turn out well for the Native Americans," he said. "We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet." - Stephen Hawking
That's what I've been saying. Hell, the ISS would work. Just refit it to land on the lunar surface
lol do you know how impractical that would be it would be faster, easier, safer, cheaper, and would take less energy to build a moon base from scratch than to move the ISS to the moon
Ten bucks this is what we find on Mars in the future:
He's from hell.
I am shocked that I'm the first one to post this.
So am I
Sadly science has financial limits.
Curiosity
I gotta say, that's a brilliant name for it.
Credible source or stop trying to be a buzzkill for mankind.
We made it through the radiation belt on the way to the Moon. We can make it to Mars. Hell, it's possible to shield a crew from the gamma-fucking-rays of an antimatter drive. It's obviously possible to shield a craft from solar radiation. Just add tungsten to the damn thing! Or a big magnetic coil at either end. Whatever works for you.
No NASA! YOU WILL BE KILL BY DEMONS
we're obviously going to run into this:
