Religious people trust atheists as much as they trust rapists, study finds.
Funny how they would vote for black people the most, considering the bible is strictly hating on black skinned people last I checked
Where is this said?
Yes, you're right, but then most of the atheists who outwardly try to debunk religion are just doing it to be assholes or to try and force their views on someone, which seems to be really hypocritical since that's a huge portion of complaints I hear from atheists. It'd be nice if both sides could stop being whiny little shits over someone else's beliefs.
If you really think people try to do it to be dicks or to force their views, then you really have no idea what the community is like.
Stop talking, instantly lost all credibility.
Those who try and debunk religion are typically speaking to an already atheist community, those who appear to be forcing their views on someone typically happens when their own views are attacked. A good example is The Amazing Atheist if you followed him for a long time and watch his "story" unfold.
I can understand stories like Amazing Atheist's, but Facepunch usually tends to be extra silly in outwardly protesting religion in a hostile way.
This is why I'm Anti-Atheist [sp]No, not really, I'm just trying to make a point[/sp]
Because of the bullshit it spreads
not to mention the countless instances of falsified evidence introduced to make your point sound better
Note how me saying I'm Anti-atheist sounds ridiculously bigoted to you
Take a look at how you said you're Anti-Religion from a perfectly normal person's perspective
You're being just as dumb as the people you dislike. Seriously, the Facepunch atheism circlejerk is so damn obnoxious.
If anything Facepunch hates religion but are a bunch of pussies when it comes to actually being atheist (See the mass debate thread I started about the definition of atheism, no one else is willing to admit they don't believe in a higher power)
Funny how there are so many "studies" and alike that make christians seem like crazy superstitions subhuman animals.

If Facepunch is any kind of accurate representation, then I'm not wrong.
I realize that there are plenty of sensible people, but the more vocal part of the community tends to be more hostile.
I can understand stories like Amazing Atheist's, but Facepunch usually tends to be extra silly in outwardly protesting religion in a hostile way.
I will agree Facepunch is certainly overly aggressive to religion, that's why we have a rule saying no religious threads.
I'm probably gonna stop talking because one thing with religion, If mentioned, will probably start a shitstorm (On Facepunch)
If Facepunch is any kind of accurate representation, then I'm not wrong.
And if the west borough baptist church and Jehovah's witnesses are any kind of an accurate representation of religion...
[sp]Judging an entire belief of a people off one group, especially on the internet, is a brilliant idea[/sp]
Guys stop fighting. I guess everyone has a right to their own opinion. Even if it isnt what you agree with, you dont have to be dicks about it.
If Facepunch is any kind of accurate representation, then I'm not wrong.
No it is not, Look up the Atheist Community of Austin, shining example of a non-aggressive community "preaching" positive Atheism without forcing their views on others.

Dude I love you, Athiests on here are the best example of hipocrisy I can think of.
I can understand stories like Amazing Atheist's, but Facepunch usually tends to be extra silly in outwardly protesting religion in a hostile way.
That's because facepunch has a good portion of Atheist members who are all bickering within our own little community. We're not standing on street corners telling people they're retarded whilst handing out books on Evolution.

Much like religious people, the bad apples are the ones you hear of the most.

I hear comments about religious people being "uninformed morons" all the time here.
I hear comments about religious people being "uninformed morons" all the time here.
Yeah, that's what I just said. We're bickering to ourselves, what part of that did you not get? Every now and then we'll get some ass hole go attack another member, and vice versa. Hence why there aren't supposed to be religious threads.
Yeah! Uneducated conversations
I believe in a different life ideal which means I trust rapists. GREAT
Funny how there are so many "studies" and alike that make christians seem like crazy superstitions subhuman animals.
Exactly. But people in the USA seem to forget that a majority of the ruling and governing parties and leaders are religious to some extent. They must be doing something right to be able to attain such notoriety
Because there's a ton of teenagers here, ON THE INTERNET? Notice how he said street corners, like the ones in real life. I mean you're not going to get the facepunch atheist community to yell at religious people in real life much less go outside.
Once again, the internet is really really really different than what happens in the real world
Yeah, that's what I just said. We're bickering to ourselves, what part of that did you not get? Every now and then we'll get some ass hole go attack another member, and vice versa. Hence why there aren't supposed to be religious threads.
And did you read his comment about an atheist attacking religion, not another atheist?
Yeah, that's what I just said. We're bickering to ourselves, what part of that did you not get? Every now and then we'll get some ass hole go attack another member, and vice versa. Hence why there aren't supposed to be religious threads.
There's a difference between bickering with people in your community, and insulting people who are not members of you community.
Where is this said?
I don't think it says or even implies that any sort of race is inferior, but there are parts of the bible that people used to use to advocate slavery. People can and have used the Bible to advocate anything and everything. Religion is never what it's supposed to be when it enters the hands of a politician.
Our morals don't come from religion, they can be explained fully by evolution and the fact that we are social animals (maybe we need better scientific education to correct this misunderstanding that morals come from religion), so I don't see why why lacking religious beliefs should make us morally untrustworthy. I find it astonishing that an atheist (someone who lacks a belief in god(s)) currently has pretty much zero chance of getting elected into public office, but a guy who believes in magic underpants and other batshit insane ideas is currently the lead man to go up against Obama in the presidential elections.
Obviously we have a big problem here that needs to be fixed by education.

Okay go retrace your conversation again:
Cuon: Facepunch is hostile twards religion
You: No it's atheist members attack atheist members
Marine: No they attack religion
Our morals don't come from religion, they can be explained fully by evolution and the fact that we are social animals, so I don't see why why lacking religious beliefs should make us morally untrustworthy.
There's a great Penn Jillette rant about this. He claims that drawing your morals from religion for a reward system (heaven and hell) is much much worse than just being a moral person for the sake of being a good person. "Religion doesn't make bad people do bad things but can make good people do bad things" or something along those lines

Its not atheists attacking other atheists. Its atheist members speaking to an atheist community, as in what they say is intended for the seeming majority of atheists here. When I say bickering I mean blabbing to themselves.
Its atheist members speaking to an atheist community, as in what they say is intended for the seeming majority of atheists here.
Now you are generalizing the entirity of Facepunch? I do not recall a census indicating 100% of Facepunchers identify as Atheist, nor do I recall Facepunch being designated as an "Atheist-only" forum.
Now you are generalizing the entirity of Facepunch? I do not recall filling out a beliefs survey, nor do I recall Facepunch being designated as an "Atheist-only" forum.
Okay the both of you need to stop. He said seeming majority, and you have to admit facepunch seems to be mostly atheist (I know there are theist facepunchers). Or the very at least we post the most :v:

You'd basically have to gag America's politicians because most of this bullshit comes from them. They talk about religion almost as much as people whose jobs are to talk about religion, and they're the only authority figure that gets something out of using it as a tool (except maybe missionaries, but they're often wrapped up in politics themselves).
You're why athiest get bad names man
she said she wanted to punch me after I said I was an atheist so I started acting like a satanist :(

Too bad Atheists won't have a "good" name on society for another hundred years. That's how long its going to take to stamp out this hatred for non-believers and homosexuality.

Atleast I get better results now. :v:
Religion in it's self is fine, it's the people who corrupt and twist it for their own gain. Believe in whatever you want, so long as you don't hurt others, try to convert, and aren't being taken advantage of.
All that should matter is that you find peace, if it's a giant man in the sky or science, but it's corrupted beyond words.

Which is why Buddhism is one of the better religions. It's not all egocentric beyond mutually helping your fellow bro to better yourself and your fellow man.
Also, just gonna leave this out here:

This is religion and atheism in a nutshell, if both liking and hating Skub made you feel self-righteous.
