The careful description was from television broadcast news which made it abundantly clear who the attackers and victims were, it just makes for a super unfortunate radio broadcast. My post in the other thread They also cut out a part about the attackers "replying to viewer comments" which explains the slight discrepancy in time between the two samples.
Ah. Intentional or not, though, a news company should be more mindful of this kind of thing.
Ah. Intentional or not, though, a news company should be more mindful of this kind of thing.
That being said, Silly Sil did point this out in another thread
Comparing this, CBS radio : https://youtu.be/hl91X3JSWrA Bolded sentences taken from this: https://youtu.be/Nv8Ab58-7WI 1:14 - 1:20 First sentence. 1:21 - 1:22 "Fuck Donald Trump" that didn't make it to CBS radio 1:22 - 1:26 Second sentence. CBS this morning (second video) gave a lot of context up to 1:14, CBS radio on the other hand said "Viral video of a beating and a knife attack in Chicago suggests the assault had racial overtones. CBS reporter tells us the victim is described as mentally challenged teenager."
The radio broadcast cut out "Fuck Trump" which would have offered a lot of context for just one second of audio.
NPR's bias is very subtle. They're liberal, however they (mostly) do a good job at maintaining a balanced report on things. However, a lot of their interviews come with some really heavy slanted questions. Still good listens though, especially since I can listen to NPR in my car on my way to class or work.
Can't forget about their tiny desk concerts. Those are great. And this is... Well, par for the course these days, really. Journalism is a far from perfect field, and there's a lot of malicious behavior that goes on to push an agenda. That's all we really do. For the most part, it's about telling people what to think, not encouraging them to think for themselves.
Fuck that evil white kid for forcing the poor innocent black kids to accidentally torture him and get in trouble for it. Mainstream news is immense levels of trash.
