I dunno, I liked it but I've never played Diablo or Diablo II. It's not a bad game, but I hear it's not a true sequel to its predecessors.
So, where's that source for your claim?
WoW and Starcraft 2 both had starter editions since before Diablo 3 was released. It seems reasonable to assume that's just something they do now.
Are we saying Diablo 3 is bad because it's genuinely not a good game or are we still complaining about the drm?
When I first got it it was a blast with friends, for about 3 hours. There are a lot of things wrong with it, many stemming from AH/DRM/hacking accounts, but my biggest problem was there is just not enough content to warrant the purchase at full price. Seriously, they took major steps back from LoD. It's like entire portions of stuff is missing, and they didn't even take advantage of any advances made in video games in the past decade other than making it 3D.
I don't like new Blizzard anymore. Starcraft 2 is the only new game that's been consistent. With WoW it's been "REFER A FRIEND TO GET TO 85" and Diablo 3? Eugh, that auction house. I'll just continue playing Warcraft 3: Frozen throne, thank you
hacking accounts
To be fair, it's not really Blizzards fault that people are dumb with their account security.
Diablo 3 is a great game. The story got a little weaker towards the end but it's far from what I'd consider to be a total failure.
From what I've heard it's fun for about a week then it just loses all playability.
From what I've heard it's fun for about a week then it just loses all playability.
That's exactly what it is, when you realize you're playing DII but with half as many people, no pvp, and all your items just got stolen because you didn't pay extra money to make your account "secure" [editline]14th August 2012[/editline]
To be fair, it's not really Blizzards fault that people are dumb with their account security.
No that's not fair at all never in any other online game have I never seen such bullshit.

The only people who got hacked either got keylogged or phished.
Diablo 3 isn't a bad game, it just has serious pacing issues and is trying to be way too accessible.
Diablo 3 is a great game. The story got a little weaker towards the end but it's far from what I'd consider to be a total failure.
Towards the end? They took Diablo II's mystery and danger and interesting characters and turned it into an action cartoon
No that's not fair at all never in any other online game have I never seen such bullshit.
You have never played a game where peoples accounts got "hacked"? Hacked being in quotes because there usually isn't actual hacking involved.
You don't have to pay extra money to have your account be secure, but it certainly helps.
Oh so now we're not just paying extra money for frivolous cosmetic items just to be secure you have to pay extra money are you seriously saying that [editline]14th August 2012[/editline]
You have never played a game where peoples accounts got "hacked"? My main issue with D3 really is the butchering of the lore/story. The Diablo universe was one of the few game lores I really got into and damnit they really fucked it up with D3.
well looks like I can finally get a solid opinion on this game i should download it later
Weren't they saying it was risky to play in public games for a while?
That was a myth made by idiots, for idiots to believe.

Authenticators provide great, almost fool-proof protection but they aren't necessary as long as you take the correct steps. The "public games" was never a confirmed thing. It was a rumor that got picked up and circulated by a lazy and sensationalist gaming journalism community. That "big hack spree" that popped up near the launch of Diablo 3 happened because millions of new Battle.net accounts were opened on compromised systems by people who didn't know better. My account wasn't hacked, nor were the 20+ people I know personally who bought the game. Diablo 3 is just as secure as every other game with online connectivity.
The joke is that I wouldn't play D3 if they paid me. Ruined my childhood, blizzard's a faggot. I'll just pretend it never happened, like deus ex 2.
wow dude blizzards fucked they released a demo looks like they're going f2p rip in peace blizzard, makers of the worst games in extenice seriously, it's as funny as it is sad how badly any mention of d3 blows over here

Never, in 12 years of playing online has any one of my accounts been compromised, ever. None of this makes this a bad game though. There are plenty of other things to do that.
I think the Loud House review does a pretty good job of showing why Diablo 3 is a bad game.
The only people I know who really love playing D3 and still play it right now, are people who really don't play PC games except one or two different titles every couple of years, and those who only had fun playing Diablo 2 because it good platform for co-oping "something" with their friends/BF/GF/etc, rather than playing it because they legitmately got drawn into the mechanics/story/atmosphere/etc. I personally think D3 is a step down game flow wise, story wise, visual wise, etc from D2+LoD. But it is a decent multiplayer experience. And some people, especially those who usually only stick to one or two popular selling games every few years, don't care about the former aspects, or at least aren't sensative to them - they are only really interested in how well it holds up as a raw co-op experience.
A starter edition is nice I guess. Or you could just ask a friend to use their account. Then you can download the game and play it for as much as you want. Battlenet lets multiple people play different games on the same account, so I'm surprised more people aren't doing that.
I am surprised they don't just make the game free to play with all the money they are making from the in house auction.
What's with all these failing games going F2P?
It didn't fail, it just isn't a game that has very much replay-ability..
"Diablo 3" sales ballooned to a whopping 6.3 million within the first week.
"The reason I pirate game is because developers never release demos." Diablo 3 trial. "WAHOHSIKH WTF BLIZAARD lul u muney grabbing fckus!1! ur're gaeym is feliling so u release a demo lol scrubs"
They became desperate, in need of fresh noobs to play D3. D3 tanked seriously for me. I logged in one month ago...

I don't think Diablo 3 is bad. I've played it more than any other game released in the last 1-2 years. Sure it has its problems, but atleast Blizzard is making some effort trying to fix them with upcoming patches. Something that many developers wouldn't care about doing.
This game fails to entertain me for more than 40 seconds
