When will people learn that being old is not a fucking excuse.
She refused to show license / insurance details and the cop acted fine IMO.
I don't see why she should get special treatment because she's old.
Assholes get old. Thieves, murderers, they all get old.

Car lurched forward, probably looked like she was about to escape.
This whole thing actually reminds me of an old woman who walked into my bike pedal (I wasn't on it, I was stationary and holding the bike by my side) because she was walking too close to me though there was plenty of room to go past. She started saying stuff like "your pedal hit my leg" and I was all like "I was holding it here still, you walked into it" then she was all like "YOU HURT MY LEG!" at which point she pushed me and called me an idiot multiple times and said it was my fault.
I told her that if she wants to push me again, I'll push back and she'd come off alot worse than me. Then she said something like "YOU TRY BEING 80 AND SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE"
This is what I dislike. Who fucking cares how old she was, she walked into my bike, it was her fault. Her age and how hurt she was is irrelevant to me. She may as well have just walked into me when I was stood still and complained, or ran me over in her car and complained about the damage to her bumper. It's the same as the news story here. Her age is irrelevant, the cop acted as he would with anyone else, and I think that's just how it should be.
Anyway, to conclude my story I said "I don't care how old you are, you walked into my bike and it's your fault. How dare you blame me, fuck off." and she left.
Rate me dumb if you think I'm an asshole. Rate me agree if you think she's an asshole.
My Nan is almost 90, and she doesn't act it at all.
My Mum told her to take off her trousers, so she could clean them and my Nan replied "You want me to strip?"
:v:
I don't see whats wrong with what that cop did...
What a dick, it's people like him that tarnish the reputation of the cops in the eyes of everyone
True that, some cops are good, but this guy is just bad!
Morgan Freeman would have done the right thing.
She was kind of being bitch...he warned her once...she should have fixed the fucking problem and she never would have been sprayed...it doesn't matter if that's how she bought it it's illegal either way

There's no law against tinted windows. And she couldn't "fix" the problem upon being stopped. What's she supposed to do? Press the "untint windows" button in her car?
Also, who else fucking lol'd at "THAT'S WHAT PAIN IS FOR!!!"

What an incredibly insightful statement. So you're saying that... some are good... but this guy was bad. Amazing.
Guess what, it doesn't matter if you bought the vehicle like that, the windows are still over-tinted. I don't know why she wouldn't show the officer her licence.
But deliberately spraying her and causing her pain because the truck slipped forward a bit is stupid.
Everyone's being stupid.
I didn't know there was even such a thing as "overly-tinted windows".
While I hate police brutality, and I will admit that he may have ahandled things innopropriately, I have 2 things to say.
1) The news story completely disregarded the policeman's side of the story. Any fucker in the world can make up a story about a cop abusing their power; they have zero proof that he did any of that, and the paper didn't ask him what happened. It's completely biased.
2) What the fuck is a police officer supposed to do if you start to pull away?! They aren't supposed to give you a couple of seconds to stop just in case your "foot slipped". What the fuck kind of excuse is that anyways?
Also, gnome, I'm pretty sure it actually is a illegal in most places to have your front windows tinted so much that a cop can't see what's going on inside.
If she started driving off when she "accidentally let go of the brake" then there was a reason for him to jump through the window and pepper spray her. Maybe this is a big thing to just get a cop fired.

Yeah it's illegal here. My car has tinted windows though. :smug:
Pain is for hurting people?
Damn, I never would've guessed.
Yay a dickhead cop fired! Why aren't there more stories that end up with the cop(s) being fired?! I read so many and dammit, there is actually worse shit done by cops than this, but they don't get fired! WTF!

What did the cop do wrong?
fucking christ, that guy doesn't deserve the dignity that's supposed to come with being an officer.
There's good cops, bad cops, and just plain stupid cops.
And then there's the MC
(lol no one's gonna get that)
Darren Charpentier, a two-year veteran of the force, was terminated following a meeting Wednesday attended by about 30 residents complaining about incidents involving the officer.

Ah, well I wasn't aware of that. That would explain why only the back windows are tinted in my car. That begs the question, who previously put tinted windows in the front if its illegal to do so? Or maybe it was just manufactured (or the tinted windows swapped in) in a place where it's legal?
As far as I know, he didn't do anything wrong. She was being a complete idiot and didn't comply with the police officer. She could have removed the tint from her windows but didn't. And she let go of the brake which signalled that she was trying to get away. If she was smart, her truck would have been in park.

Luckily he was a good cop.
Hey, I'd be pissed off too if I had to pull over an old lady who didn't listen and acted like she owned da place. This is man's country.
Bitch be disrespeckin tha badge.
He overstepped the line, she was being difficult.
So, would a limo be pulled over for having tinted windows too?
Seeing as you can't see shit in those things.
I'm actually not sure who to side with in this case.

How do you remove tint from windows? :|
This is an honest question.
Both the cop and the woman were idiots.

Yes there is. There is defiantly a law against how tinted your windows can be...and the few days between her being stopped she could have had the tint removed

No, you're allowed to have back tinted windows, but not the front ones. Limo's keep their front windows untinted..

My Grandmother drives this exact car. Why would you want tinted window's in that?
"a two-year veteran of the force"
More like a nub cop.
People here are actually defending the cop?
Actually no, that sounds like an average In The News poster to me.
i think it would be better for police to have even more powers in these types of situations. nigga ass grandma try to run away blow her wrinkly ass up with a javeline missile launcher justice :911: :911: :911:

lady jay-walking is a crime GET ON THE FLOOR NOW I WILL NOT HESITATE TO SHOOT
This reminds me of one of my friend's dad. He was in his truck when he got pulled over by a cop (who had already had several complaints). Now, the cop asked him for his license, which is absolutely normal. So he reaches into his jacket (which was in the middle seat) for his wallet. The cop, thinking he was pulling out a weapon, shot him in the back twice. This caused his legs to spasm in a way that held down the accelerator, and having no control over the wheel, the truck promptly crashed into a fence. The cop then went to his window and jammed his gun into his face, saying, "You think you can run away from me, punk?" needless to say, the cop was sued and fired.
That is why you say "My license is in my jacket pocket, may I reach for it?" And you don't get fucked up.
That is why you say "My license is in my jacket pocket, may I reach for it?" And you don't get fucked up.
Because reaching for something without asking permission is punishable by death.
Also,
Even the police officer gets in trouble.
