Well, I can't imagine anyone having a "day" of any kind at a water park in December, can you?
you don't argue much do you?

this is a really dumb analogy
And those aren't the people to which I refer. They aren't the problem.
As much as I'd like to believe most are as you say, the truth remains that we have shot down gay marriage and many other laws repeatedly in the United States. Abortion had to be taken to the supreme court and still gets regularly challenged and states constantly try to worm around it. It wouldn't be possible to shoot these down unless we still had a severe infestation of bible thumping idiots.
There are plenty of secularists against that shit too.
The problem is not the religion. Matter of fact, the religion has little to do with most of these people.
I view current organized religion as a massive cancer on society. I stated earlier that I didn't have a problem with spirituality itself.
I understand the need to worship as a group, but the structure of our current religions is such that it just begs to be exploited.
The problem is, you stated in your early posts that you just hated all religions, you didn't fully explain yourself until your third or fourth post. You could have avoided the shit storm if you had made yourself clear.
i want a gay day
it even rhymes
itd be great gays from across the country could come together with rainbow flags and ride the rollercoasters and scream like little girls
they have that at disneyland
[editline]12:19AM[/editline]
or is it world
I've been to Six Flags on Muslim day before. They have arabic food, play arabic music, and hold prayers there. It's good fun.
What they should do is also have a Jewish family day and a Christian family day, that should weed out the bigots.
I'm sure they have events on christmas or around that time, so no, we wouldn't.
Boba, i know you're fucking illiterate, but at least TRY to read the article.
If I was illiterate, then how am I able to respond to you?
:smug:
Also, trying to insult someone personally never really works out. It makes it seem like you've run out of arguments.
The next dictionary edition should change the "Terrorist" word definition to "Common slang word used to designate an Islam practitioner with an angered, hateful and assumed meaning. eg : this fuckin' terrorist is riding my all-american rollercoaster !"
That's why United States piss me off so much. Well, I won't lie to you, in France too we've got some assholes who think Islam = Bunch of Terrorist, but they are not even that stupid...
I don't really know who Glenn Beck is, but I already know it's an asshole and a real life troll.

Oh because Americans have NEVER oppressed fucking Muslim's right?
and he ADMITTED there is racism in his country against Muslims. Not only do YOU not admit it, gunfox, you're part of the problem.
To all the people complaining about they don't have Christian holidays, they do. Its called Christmas.

That would be because it isn't racism.
But if we must use that term, incorrect though it may be, then yeah there is plenty of racism in the US. We clash every day because we are a nation filled to the brim with different ideologies, cultures, ethnic groups, and religions.
Anyhow, my point is that do you have any idea how much hatred you have to have for a group to get that veil ban to pass? I'll give you a hint, it's more than "some".
You can't use that for grounds to hate the United States, when your country is doing the exact same thing, only WORSE.
I think the PATRIOT act is little more fucked up them banning a veil.
I think the PATRIOT act is little more fucked up them banning a veil.
It was a veil of communism.
Do you think Beck is just really, really, really stupid, or actually a genius and he's just playing us for all the money he gets from saying those stupid shit thing, or just wants attention and he doesn't believe what he says?
I think it's some redneck in a businessman suit (damn I love that phrase) that has a serious lack of real information and brain, and still think he is able to make true and believable statements on TV. Actually, these shows are only trusted by other uninformed or badly informed conservatives who see any exterior thing as a communist or terrorist threat for the united states.
@GunFox : well, fuck it, you can use a shitload of words to describe what's going on in both united states and France. Xenophobia, Racism, Discrimination, there are a lot of these words, but they are not describing the real reason why people do this : stupidity.
Seriously, they are just dumb as fuck. First of all, they are hating people they never seen ; second, they are yelling at a religion, which they associate to human beings ; third, they make generalities by watching some suicide bombers on TV and conclude that every single Islam practitioners strap bombs on their chests.
And, well, just accept that there are some (a lot in fact) of these dumb fucks in your country. If you already accepted it, just realize you don't have to spit on another country to feel better about it. I know we have some dumb fucks too, I know they are really stupid, I know a law to ban the veil is passing (but I'll talk about it later in this post), but this is not a good enough reason to forget conservative Americans, just as "conservative" Frenches, are dumb fucks.
It just looks like you are rejecting my point of vue because I'm not American, leading you to think I cannot have a good opinion on the subject.
Anyway, about the veil ban, it's not about the Islamic people, or their religion, it's not a direct strike to them, it's about the women right. The veil is some stuff men decided to place (it's not even written in the holy Islamic book, the Coran or whatever it is called in English) to be sure their wifes won't look in another place, to be sure they won't talk, just shut the fuck and make food and children. It had a "legit" reason to exist back in the Harems, but now it doesn't. People see it as a direct insult to women's rights, and I agree with them. That's why this law is voted, to ban the veils from public places. It's also a reverse way to fight racism, because these dumb fucks who hate so much Islam won't have anyone to beat to death now, just because they wear a Veil.
It's also a reverse way to fight racism, because these dumb fucks who hate so much Islam won't have anyone to beat to death now, just because they wear a Veil.
So you should fight racists by giving the racists their way? Banning Burqas isn't going to make them hate Muslims any less, it will only validate their beliefs.
Trust me, I know some people who just punch Arabic people right in the face, especially if they are women or wear Burqas. At least, this will take the reason away.
Even if they decide to do something else instead, even if they decide to, I dunno, piss on mosques or tag the graves ("neonazis" do that sometime... just drunk teens who don't know shit of what they are doing... still assholes anyway), no human beings will be directly implicated, which is a good thing, because even if they continue hating Islamics, they are not directly hurting them anymore.
That's complicated, there are a lot of arguments against and for the law, but actually, in our situation, the "less worst" choice is to vote for it.

No, it's not. You're validating the racists. You're making the law agree with the racists. This sort of persecution will only serve to make the racists stronger.
to be fair, burkas are a part of this fake Islam that oppresses women.
to be fair, burkas are a part of this fake Islam that oppresses women.
Fake Islam? Care to elaborate?
Burkas are not part of the quaran.
Burkas are not part of the quaran.
Islam is more than the Quran.
Or sharia law, or Hadith, or the Scrolls of Abraham.
[editline]03:03PM[/editline]
it's not a part of Islam
"Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty......And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms...." (Quran 24:30,31).
The Burka is just an extention of that^.
That passage is regarding the Hijab.
That passage is regarding the Hijab.
The passage speaks of veils in general.
