What in the world is that? Some kind of Boombox tank?
Standard Noise Marine armor maybe?
How else will they make things get loud?

As much as I would like that to happen it's not that simple lol
I feel like if I were a director I'd be exactly the same as Neill. It's probably why I like Elysium so much in spite of its lack of a story, because the things that get me excited are the robots, the ships, the weapons, and visual design of everything.
For this reason I'm a little worried about Chappie because it looks to be far more about characters driving an actual story than as an excuse for a big mech to play cat and mouse with a tiny robot.
What a polarizing pair of paragraphs.
For all the plot holes and stuff I don't think Elysium was that bad of a movie. It could have been amazing with a better script, but at least the script it had was a decent enough that it didn't ruin my enjoyment of all the really good things in the movie.
thank god, someone else shares my passion for how terrible of a movie Elysium was
because that movie was fucking terrible
I was prepared to love it after District 9 and it was a total mess; awful characters, terrible casting, awful camerawork, awful physics, awful writing, all centered around a bullshit plot
Hmmm if he feels like he wishes he should go back and do it right, maybe he should actually do that or remake it as a reboot in a few years with same or different cast?
Elysium had a really good setup, but the overall attempt of trying to turn it into some political statement killed it for me. I'm very certain that opening up the US-Mexico border would lead to many more issues than the movie wished to admit.
Sharlto Copley surprised me since I didn't expect him to fulfill the role of a crazy lunatic who's a off-the-rails undercover agent.
He literally blindsided me with his performance.

Before I watched the movie, the only trailers I saw were the ones without Kruger talking, just shots of him waving his katana around, using his forcefield, and marching silently around in his exosuit, so I kinda imagined he'd be some kind of stoic, emotionless terminator/ninja future assassin who never talks. Then I watch the movie and I think the only time Copley stops yelling in South African is when his face is removed.
