It will be nice to see Gandhi Creed.
Honestly? you start an IP with a male protagonist, if you want to maintain the same feel and charm, you stick with a male protagonist. Similar personality, body type, etc. I wouldn't play Tomb Raider with Larry Croft. Okay, bad example. I wouldn't enjoy Portal without Chell. Or Metroid without Samus. It's a stylistic consideration. [editline]9th February 2013[/editline] In Assassin's Creed so far, Altair, Ezio, and even Connor all had very similar body types, and while their personalities varied, they all had a very familiar feel.
I did notice that Connor was much more built than Ezio and Altair. Either that or it was just because of the engine.
It would be hilarious if the new hero is another descendant of Connor reliving his memories as he travelled to Brazil.

assassin's creed: cro magnons
I feel like I'm in the minority of wanting a modern era. I really liked the Desmond segments in 3 and think it'd be cool to have more of that. China could be cool too though.
Just try to remember, the closer to the modern day we get the more political barriers and problems you run into. This is why no lore exists for Barack Obama or the war in Afghanistan and the closest thing they've wrote story about to the modern day is George Bush, and even then he doesn't have much of a story nor do any other political figures post World War II. That being said I don't think they'll bother leaving the 1800's. At a push they'll probably consider World War I but they already said that's probably never gonna happen.
An Assassins Creed in Asia would be so cool. Setting-wise, it would be beautiful. http://imgur.com/a/ZIsyX
Feudal Japan anyone? It would look amazing and be cool; Samurais everywhere.
Russia, October revolution please
Maybe, but because of all the urban settings and the more chaotic urban warfare in WWII, I consider that far more likely.
a ww2 assassins creed would be amazing kind of like the saboteur
I put my money on being set somewhere in ancient Asia (hopefully China or Japan). If I remember correctly, there's mentions of a Chinese Assassin Brotherhood in AC2 and AC:BH, so it could be China.
