I don't see how tossing somebody off of a park bench who's just sitting there enjoying the scenery and contemplating life, or how tossing somebody off of a bench who's sitting tending to a sprained ankle or something is 'smart'. Sounds incredibly dumb to me.

Did anyone notice that part of the topic of this article was discussing the negative implications of such technology in society? Stop complaining about smartbins and smartbenches, because the creators aren't saying that they're amazing ideas, but rather possibilities whose consequences need to be determined now, rather than later.

Why wouldn't the smart trash can just have a separate part to it for recyclables...? If it just spits the plastic out people will most likely leave it there, but if it sorted it itself that could be more helpful (although teaching people to be really lazy...)
