Steve Jobs Voted Most Influential Man in Video Games, Igniting a Firestorm of Complaints

I really hope one day the world will realize Apple and Steve Jobs suck dick jerky and then take them off their pedestal.
That man gave me the best childhood ever.
He pretty much molded gaming as we know it, as well as the people itak365 posted above
I guess he influenced mobile gaming quite a lot.
PSP and Gameboy are breaking into your house now to beat you up and rape you.
What about John Carmack? You know, the guy that invented 3D games?
He should've got it around DOOM and DOOM II and Quake. After that he falters.
Literally the only 2007 game that matches up to episode 2 is Mirror's Edge, which in specially-prepared situations exceeds the level of Portal 2. Where is gabe newell.
If anyone Miyamoto should win, he created a lot of famous video game franchises that have shaped the industry.
Yes, because whenever I design a game or game asset, the first thing I think is "What would Steve Jobs do?"
Or "How will my idea be influenced or effected by the brilliant mind of Steve?"
Or maybe, "How much money can I possibly squeeze out of this product?"
or "How good does this product have to look to overcome it's giant inadequacies?"
Actually, this survey might not be too far off.
These people don't know shit about video games.
Heck without Mario or Zelda I'm not even sure if platforming or adventures games would exist. Keeping in mind before the NES era a lot of games were about high scores and a very simple objective.
Didn't he fund Halo or something like that?
Shigeru Miyamoto should get the "historical" award, and Gabe the "of the decade" award.
Miyamoto introduced great games to all audiences, and Gabe blew the game market out of the water with his "Videogames as a service, not a product" approach, and the "Fresh ideas from indie game devs" thing.
I actually understand Mark Zuckerberg getting a percentage, forcing people into playing shitty grinding games because they're integrated into the social network and therefore all their friends constantly bug them into doing it is kind of an achievement actually.
I mean, even a "most influential man in 3D moviemaking" would be more fitting for Jobs! (Pixar)
Didn't he fund Halo or something like that?
He actually was very interested in Halo prior to it becoming a first person shooter. It was going to be a third person RTS on the Mac before Microsoft bought Bungie. Probably the closest Jobs ever got towards a video game and that was over ten years ago.

He's pretty influential with video games
The pippin is still a global example for "how not to design a console" :v:
The London Games Conference is a small event that that is heavily focused on the digital, social, cloud, and iOS/Android side of gaming.
-Digital: Steam!
-Social: Steam!
-Cloud: Steam!
-iOS/Android: Apple!
And i'm guessing it's not focused at all on the "gaming" side of "gaming".
I still would like to know atleast 1 thing he influenced in regards to gaming.
uhm, obviously he created the iPhone all by him self so he was a big deal for great games like Angry Birds and Super-Balloon Tower-Defense 4 :downs:
Would have been funnier if Notch won.
Would have been funnier if Notch won.
I mean at least notch has somewhat done something towards gaming.
WELL, while he may not have influenced gaming DIRECTLY, he did certainly make people want mobile computers more, which lead to gaming. i guess that could be an argument.... because if more people have computer more people realize they are boring as fuck so games are developed for them
though i don't like the man at all, i think he is an asshole and a snake, and his fanbase is completely retarded.
I still would like to know atleast 1 thing he influenced in regards to gaming.
He created the (most of the shit apple produces are direct concepts steve jobs came up with anyway) App Store which allowed people to sell their shit flash games for five dollars to people who have a disposable income large enough to be throwing it around on said apps.
Those small devs are the ones who were surveyed. They praise the guy for what he did.
If the surveyed ones were PC indie companies, they'd mention Notch for his stunning success or Gabe with the whole "hiring indie devs and giving them a large budget".
If the surveyed ones were console-oriented developers, they'd mention Miyamoto and the introduction of the affordable home console that everyone had.
Etc, etc.
I must have ventured into another reality. Back in my reality Steve Jobs isn't the most influential guy on vidya games.
I like shooting people in my FPS.
I think it's called Ha-low.
school and music you dunce, what the fuck else would you use it for? It's not made for video games
Oh, so basically it's like any other computer except for the fact that it's NOT MADE for gaming, well, I mean, if they omit such popular functionality out of it, then it must excel at something in particular, which I have yet to see, otherwise you're just buying an overated, overpriced computer that has less functions than a regular computer that costs less.
Also, does it say in the manual that it is NOT MADE FOR GAMING?
Hah, i can see who did this survey! Old adults who have no knowledge of gaming history AND Mac Users
This whole stupid thing is nothing more than people feeling the need to pay homage to the guy because he died. It's annoying and pointlessly reactionary.
Gabe Newell should win Most Influential Man in Video Games.
Or Shigeru Miyamoto. I know nintendo has kinda tanked it recently but damn it that man can make some engrossing video games.
Who the hell did they survey?
omg who cares nerds
