Infinity Blade!!! Hallo doesn’t anyone remember that there game has been shown off in TWO of Apple’s Keynotes, and all of games based off the Pixar Movies Steve’s influence is more closely related there.
Comment on the article. lol.
Games made out of Pixars movies Omg Steve you're so great!
I wasn't aware the Pippin was that successful :v:
At least we know who the ones voting were...
"Oh dang, That game doesn't run on macs."
He didn't do shit for games. In fact, he couldn't even PLAY games on a mac, until VALVe stepped in! [editline]5th November 2011[/editline] then again, pixar, wasn't HL2's tech based on that?
Good job proposing a question on the gaming industry to people who know jack shit about it. Fucking hipsters.
Wow.....words can't describe how hard this thread made me laugh. Honestly jobs doesn't have much he can claim to be the most "influential" in. Video games are hardly one of them. I personally think that valve, more specifically, gabe, deserves a title like that.
Next they'll be telling us that Steve Jobs is the most influencial person in the porn industry... :v:
I already knew he was the most influential politician of all time but this? This man was a god

That turtle neck wearing d-bag did abso-fucking-lutely nothing for fucking gaming. His presence shouldn't even be mentioned!

gj someone stole your post and made it to reddit front page
That turtle neck wearing d-bag did abso-fucking-lutely nothing for fucking gaming. His presence shouldn't even be mentioned!
I said the same about Mark being on that list. Honestly, both of them have done jack shit for the gaming industry. What kind of idiot would even consider putting their names on that poll, and on top of that, what morons would even vote for them?
what are you guys talking about? have we all forgotten about apples magic and revolutionary console?
This man should win this award.
I'd say Gabe Newell maybe is the most influential.

Not Miyomoto, or Wright, for two influential names of the past? or Newell, an influential name of the current time? give me a fucking break, I guess jobs is now the heath ledger of the technology world.
Yes, but the way the App Store and touchscreen has changed the way they're used. Stuff like Angry Birds and Tiny Wings can show us that. Sure it was possible, but it involved taking disks, awkward controllers...
Bitch I KNOW you didn't just talk shit about gameboys.
He didn't do shit for games. In fact, he couldn't even PLAY games on a mac, until VALVe stepped in! [editline]5th November 2011[/editline] then again, pixar, wasn't HL2's tech based on that?
What the fuck are you talking about, there were loads of games for mac before valve 'stepped in'.. And valve? They'd only be there for steam, which is a means of downloading games, the iPhone/iPad has the app store which is a way of downloading games onto a portable device.. Gabe Newell is a businessman just like Steve Jobs is, he gets a lot of praise for the way he treats Valve fans but that's just the way he does things, Valve is nowhere near as big as apple is, the sales and stuff they put on aren't for the customers sake it's so that they make more money..
Why would anyone not give you the very valid reason of 'it runs video program/photoshop/etc faster', it really does, photoshop is slow as fuck on windows, but on mac it's so much faster, it's not bullshit it's actually true..
As someone who uses Photoshop CS5 on both my Windows PC at home and on the iMac's at school, I can testify that the performance difference is minimal/non-existent. What makes graphics applications (non 3D ones) so nice on Apple hardware is that the displays they use are incredibly high quality, with excellent color reproduction. An equivalent for PC would be the Dell Ultrasharp's, which use the same hardware. But really, the whole argument that "Mac's do graphics better than PC's" is completely invalid, as nothing I've seen or experienced has demonstrated this in any way.

My MBP has a partition between OSX and Windows 7 so the comparison is on exactly the same hardware and there's definitely a difference

My computer is on a Dual-Core 2.6ghz (low-end, by modern standards), with 4GB of RAM as well. It's worth remembering though that a dedicated Windows PC will run considerably better than a system running dual-boot like yours.
It's worth remembering though that a dedicated Windows PC will run considerably better than a system running dual-boot like yours.
I don't see how, only one OS loads at once.

I know there was mac games, but there wasn't any really good shit until Valve stepped in the picture and made their games on Mac. And honestly, apples marketing is based on a set on one exact price, Valves prices are a lot lower than most markets I've seen. The only games I see as app's are remakes of cheap flash games, especially angry birds, which has been done million times, with different themes and styles every time.

Myst and Quake too. There are probably loads more but I havn't looked.
If anyone deserves the title it's Miyamoto He practically defined the modern platformer, created one of the first real open world 3D games (Mario 64), and created the most popular games ever made (Wii Sports is now the best selling game ever, before that it was another one of his games) he created wonderful games that continue to be amazing even today
