im fairly sure i know exactly what im talking about
The marketing is complete rubbish. Computers have already been dumbed down enough for the public, and now they're trying to dumb down the advertising even further to the point where its just simply wrong.
The picture that annoyed me seems to have gone now though :v:
Too expensive.
I have a Macbook Pro, an iPad 2, and I was/am one of the pilot program testers for the Cr-48. When I first received my Cr-48 I was ecstatic; I love all things tech and I'm always looking for the next best, more innovative thing. the first two weeks I loved my Chromebook, I would take it with me to panera bread and act like I was doing important things on my "unmarked laptop", waiting for someone to say "hey, what is that?" and I would proceed to tell him how amazing the concept is and how this is going to change the way we think of computers 10 years down the road. But I'm here today to express how utterly useless this is . I use my iPad 2 A LOT, I use it to do my job at work (Hand hygiene monitor), I use it at home, everywhere I go it follows. This chomebook is a different story, it weighs 3x more, takes up 2.5x more space compared to my iPad, and it only does ~ 1% (apps, battery life, etc.) of what my iPad does. Google, why do I want something this stupid and backwards?
I think this could end up being a huge flop provided the cost of the Chrome books don't come below $200. They would have been far better off making android more versatile and powerful rather than making something like this. Of course I'll probably be wrong and this will be a major success and I'll buy a new one in june anyway...
I think this is pretty much the point, it's too late the market and has basically been usurped by tablets. The only thing this pretty much has over the tablet form factor is a dedicated physical keyboard, and it's very easy and cheap to get those.
