More to come ofcourse. I predict in an hour or 2.
Also first solid number are coming in, 8 thousand people came, 26 wounded, 2 heavily wounded.
The worst part is I keep seeing more and more events similar to this, Project X: Cityname events are popping up all over facebook. Like people actually think this was a good idea.
There's going to be another Project X 3 km from where I live tonight, thankfully only 86 people have confirmed to go there but I might just take a peek.
Holy shit, Imagine all the guilt the girl will have to go through after this, fucking assholes.
Mayor just said he had contact with the girls family, and they are traumatized.
Really surprising since we usually have top notch riot control.
Wait, we do?
I think Police could've done a better job preparing for the worst instead of underestimating the approaching 'party'. Glad they're not holding back now though.
Posting 'we dont have it under control' on twitter may not be the best publicity action though.
Cozy
That's what we call "gezellig" around here.
none of this wouldve happened if the goverment doesnt give out free public transport tickets to students, not a single student would pay for a trainticket.
also the mayor of the town messed up big time, insted of organizing a proper festival he sent the ME (riot control) to the masses resulting in a massive riot. some stores have been looted too. The mayor should be held responsible for not dealing with this situation properly.
But im still ashamed for my generation, i mean students are supposed to be learning skills to become a valueble person to society, not party hardy and make a complete mess of a small town.
That's only for higher education and then only for HBO and WO, 60% of the dutch students are VMBO and thus are only able to go to MBO.

Same here. There's a Project X being made for late next month about 4 miles away from me. On a fucking monday evening of all times.
Facebook OP.
Nerf facebook plz

not surprising really must suck for her, I bet their house is ruined
not surprising really must suck for her, I bet their house is ruined
nope whole street was closed
The even worse part is the inevitable copycats that will attempt the same thing worldwide, hopefully none of them will get this big, unless they are actually going to have a party of course... :v:
I'm actually extremely pleased by the messages the police is sending out!
They are actually saying "most of the youths who showed up were just curious and looking for a party, only a small group of rioteers were looking for a fight and something to break."
I was worried they'd blame this on onll the young people there, but they're not!
I'm so relieved.
this is sickening
Hmm, was the riot police present early on before things got out of hand? Because presence of riot police has a tendency to induce rioting.
Holy shit, Imagine all the guilt the girl will have to go through after this, fucking assholes.
I would have none at all if I were her. The people were the idiots, not her, she just forgot to click a button.
This is going to be one Riot of a party
This is going to be one Riot of a party
It was..
This happened several times already and just isn't funny anymore.
I have trouble comprehending how this even happens. You accidentally post your invite to public whatever and then thousands of people zerg rush your general location? What motivates these people to travel just to do pretty much nothing but destroy things? Even the biggest communities can rarely organize such an "event".

QED.
So the people that are arrested are going to pay for all the damages. Now comes the fun part of proving they did it.
Not a problem.
I study dutch law, and you can actually have something called 'group responsibility'.
If you were arrested on the spot because an officer saw you do something you're fucked, and if you're on camera you're fucked. And you don't even have to be actually destroying stuff on camera, even if you were not showing you actively take distance you count as a member of the group.
Very effective. "Snelrecht ftw"
The Associated Press is carrying the story, and it got picked up in Canada.
Someone should've just dropped some chloral hydrate or hydrofluoric acid on those people out of an apartment.
Those people are just wasted life imo, and I really wouldn't give a shit about them when they start to screw up the town.
wow, people attending a social gathering, what wasted life!
i bet you're spending your life very well by sitting on your ass using a computer, very much like myself.
Yes, those rioters are a huge waste of oxygen and taxpayer money.

She forgot to disable the "Public" option. Also, her invitation for sure didn't say "Come to my b-day party and burn down and rob half the town!"
And she removed it shortly after finding out. The Dutch media hype caused most of what happened.

You are right but still better than screwing up a town.
I feel sorry for those people who live there and had to see how those douchebags are destroying everything.

It's really more of an antisocial gathering.
