Police has busses set up to take people to Groningen. Has announched this on twitter. Problem is nobody in Haren seems to be checking twitter atm.
I just can't believe its actually happening, this is insane. I remember hearing about it ages ago, didn't realise it was happening now.
I was seriously considering if I should go. But this is getting way our of hand.
do it go go go
Exactly. The number isn't actually 500.000,00; it's 500000,00. Comma because it's a break, not a stop ;)
But you stop to indicate a whole number.
15 thousand people. National radio stations are talking about something that is never seen before.
But you stop to indicate a whole number.
The number isn't finished yet, so you don't stop.
do it go go go
3,5 hours for me to get there. nty.
Police has busses set up to take people to Groningen. Has announched this on twitter. Problem is nobody in Haren seems to be checking twitter atm.
Do you honestly think anyone has mobile internet there right now?
15 thousand people. National radio stations are talking about something that is never seen before.
Oh my god.
15 thousand people. National radio stations are talking about something that is never seen before.
There's no 15k people there, but still a lot of people.
3,5 hours for me to get there. nty.
go and be facepunch local reporter :D
Do you honestly think anyone has mobile internet there right now?
Cell phones don't really need wi-fi. They run on their own thing.
The . is not used as a period here, just as a short spacer between digits to make them easier to count and keep track of, so you know how much you got. 50.000.000 is a lot easier on the eye than 50000000, and the comma comes in too big if you write it as 50,000,000, since the comma is a bigger character. However, the big character is useful when transitioning over to decimals, since it signifies a major change in the value and function of the numbers after it, whereas the small period just spaces it out a little. Hell, I've seen people write it 50 000 000 more often than 50,000,000.
Who thought it was a good idea to use a dot? Dots are used by at least Germanic languages to indicate an end to a sentence. A dash or a colon would've been a much better choice.
This evening, this popped up at some Burger Kings in the Netherlands. National radio says 15k. Anyway, still fuckloads.
Do you honestly think anyone has mobile internet there right now?
Also this. Same reason why most streams go offline after a while.
Police is talking thousands. National radio says 15k. Anyway, still fuckloads.
That's how much people said they would go, the amount of people actually going is only a fraction of that.
Cell phones don't really need wi-fi. They run on their own thing.
Mobile internet. 3G. Or do you think, for some magical reason, that the towers in that area were build to support 2K+ people? [editline]21st September 2012[/editline]
Also this. Same reason why most streams go offline after a while.
Not the news ones, they have their own satellite uplink.
That's how much people said they would go, the amount of people actually going is only a fraction of that.
30 thousand said they would go. I am sure the police and shit is talking about people actually there now. Don't forget we are talking about miles of traffic jams, even highways around Haren are clogging up.
Mobile internet. 3G. Or do you think, for some magical reason, that the towers in that area were build to support 2K+ people?
I guess it could be slow.
Mobile internet. 3G. Or do you think, for some magical reason, that the towers in that area were build to support 2K+ people?
About 18k people live in the region, so cell towers are set to serve about that amount of people. Not as much people as there are now.
About 18k people live in the region, so cell towers are set to serve about that amount of people. Not as much people as there are now.
Yes, in the complete region, not the less than a square kilometer region where most of the people are packed together. 3G doesn't carry that far.

Don't forget we are talking about miles of traffic jams, even highways around Haren are clogging up.
The highways are clogging up because they were actually closed off pretty early on. The amount of people causing trouble are the regular retards that cause shit in the rest of the country as well. Most of the people there are there to actually have a good time.

Sad to see alot of retards came to fuck shit up.
I never expected this shit to actually happen, I thought people where just joking and only very few would've actually shown up :v: [editline]21st September 2012[/editline]
Police has busses set up to take people to Groningen.
I never expected this shit to actually happen, I thought people where just joking and only very few would've actually shown up :v:
I thought a few hundred would pop up. But this.
And the amount of national media covering this live is extremely slim. I haven't found a single national station covering it. Only local regional stations such as RTV Noord (whoms internet stream can't handle more than a 100 people). I can't get RTV Noord because I don't live there. Pathetic. This being a pretty big deal and all and it's just not being broadcast. EDIT: Seems like RTV Noord are trying to get their online TV stream back up. The title is pissing me off I keep thinking only 25 people are going to the party. WHY WOULD YOU PUT A PERIOD?
This is some awesome shit. Feel bad for the house, though. Hope they removed all their possesions!
