Chess is such a great game. It's a shame that so few people still play it! My dad and I used to go at least one round every night, when I was growing up. He told me that I'd beat him one day, but I still haven't managed. The best I could ever get with that dude was forcing a stalemate.

Lots of people still play it, it's a huge sport. Though I do have to say it runs in families, my brother and my father were both huge chess players. My father was a Master at one point and my brother was the national champion when he was in high school, but so far I'm just doing decently.

I'm currently friends with the best chess player in my state (highest rating AND he beat everybody at the state tournament), he says I have promise in my abilities though so I guess I shouldn't be too discouraged. Although I haven't beat him a single time, we still play a lot of chess together :v:
