Do the people saying "if you ignore them they'll stop and go away" really honestly believe that?
what even is the point in this, if they think he's gone to hell for killing himself why do they need to say that at all and go so far as to disrupt his funeral? do they get anything out of it?

Like I said, EXCEPTIONALLY misguided. Like, they've raised the bar so high it's in geo-stationary orbit.
Though if their first protests (soldier's funerals) are of any indication, they're blaming the untimely deaths and the 'downfall of our country" on God being pissed off at us because of the stuff we do, particularly when it comes to celebrities (Ryan Dunn, for instance). Just because Williams had some vices (and who doesn't? Phelp's daughter herself had a child out of wed-lock. That's a big no-no for die-hard Bible thumpers) they see it as an excuse to force-feed their ideals down everyone's throat in a very tasteless and public manner where they feel they cannot be ignored.
These guys need to be careful.
I know WBC are only in it for the money but seriously, someone could get fucked up or even killed this time around.

Nah, it's pretty obvious that there's a lot of these people who aren't just "all talk" and really have got the will to fight and hurt them. It's almost happened before; the problem has always been a lack of leadership and motivation on the part of people like us for it to progress enough to the point where they're actually getting seriously hurt or better yet killed.
There's will, but not commitment. That's the only issue. People hate them, and that's a good first step, but they're still too afraid to go all the way. Find one person who wasn't too afraid to go all the way and throw them into the crowd; the others would follow their lead. People are funny like that.
