Yeah I'm not getting a console from Sony ever.
great, cant link a new email to my account because eu psn is still down. god why did i ever fall for this failure console it was a joke since its first E3 presentation WHY DID I FALL FOR IT
I completely trust Sony with their implementation of security
Honestly people we don't even know who this supposed hack works, the article could be a complete fabrication or their "contact" just hacked the email address used and changed the password before they noticed.
They must be smoking some great shit, the ones maintaining the PSN. Well, like that old mantra, you get what you pay for, which, in this case, is absolutely nothing. :v:
why is this still happening Why the fuck have sony not got their shit together. This is one of the biggest technological cockups of the last 5 years.
Round 2. *ding* FIGHT!
Thanks for the warning.
This is not true.
read the full story they contacted SCEE about it and they're fixing it god damn
I might be able to get a PS3 for cheap so I can play those single player games that I have been wanting to play now that this happened.
Online access shut down again for 3 weeks while they fuck about to just make you update your systems again and force you to change your email. Also new: Blood type verification!
I'm going to just delete my account. I'm done dealing with this.
Oh shit son, this is bad. Someone must REALLY want Sony to crumble...
Oh yeah, not to mention that their us.playstation.com sign in page is completely down. Why the fuck did this happen... Imagine if these people used their intellect for the good of the people, they could make some great things.. but they decide to do bad things with it. I hate that. Oh well... Why is what I said in any way dumb to you, SuPeR_MaN?
I can't believe this...I mean, who the fuck has so much beef with Sony to fuck up all their customers? This had better be a quick fix if it's just to force a new email address, which is bullshit. I don't want to make a new email just for my PSN account! "Hey everyone add my new email." "Why are you getting a new email?" "It's not just me, it's 77 million other people too." "What?" "Sony was raped." "Oh.."

Could anyone post when the website login is fixed and back up? I'd appreciate it.
okay so apparently in order to change the email all they need is a password (which has been changed from the previous update). There is no confirmation email (except a contact us if you didn't do this), no secret question, nothing. That is the biggest hunk of bs I've seen in security and I can't believe they over looked that! Steam and Blizzard both have really good account security. Sony should take a few pointers from them.
Are they sure the "your password has been changed" email is proof that an account has been compromised again? Because I changed my password last night when I was forced to upon login and I got an email saying "your password was changed" not long after. Or am I just being retarded and everyone knows that they got an email after forcing a password change but they got a second one afterwords?
When will this hacker situation end?
They must be smoking some great shit, the ones maintaining the PSN. Well, like that old mantra, you get what you pay for, which, in this case, is absolutely nothing. :v:
welp then i guess we better all delete our steam accounts
When will this hacker situation end?
once sony become competent
once sony become competent
They've been competent since day 1. No matter how large your organization, if some neckbeards are desperate enough to break your system, they will, no matter what precautions you take, they can work around. It is the exact same thing as piracy, the hackers will be one step ahead of the hackee, not matter what.
Hey uh, how credible is this source? http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/18/update-on-psn-password-reset-process/ What does that mean [editline]18th May 2011[/editline] Someone break that down into laymen terms for me.
they're temporarily not letting you change your password via their website, but you can still do it on your console also there was no hack at all, it was just a simple exploit that is fixed
they're temporarily not letting you change your password via their website, but you can still do it on your console also there was no hack at all, it was just a simple exploit that is fixed
The exploit bit is what I'm concerned about. That could mean almost nothing or it could mean that the OP was 100% true.
The exploit bit is what I'm concerned about. That could mean almost nothing or it could mean that the OP was 100% true.
well, if you want to take their word for it they said it's no problem now
I don't have my PSN, I forgot my made-up DoB. :frown:
