Republicans want money out of politics? Since when does the party of corporations want that?
iirc some Republican candidates do want to restrict money in politics, I just forgot who. And I can understand why from two perspectives. One; candidates who feel threatened as they don't have as powerful corporate backing. And two; candidates who genuinely believe in small, democratic government. However it's hard to do much about it because, although many people don't like Citizens United, it makes the fair point that associations of individuals are guaranteed free speech just like individuals, and that encompasses what government lets them do with their money.
