nothing you have said has been ~deep~ Reading the memoirs of an actual intelligent servicemen or something along the lines as Herr's Dispatches is ~deep~ you are not
Thousands of other soldiers seem to respect the law and do their jobs in extreme danger, but then I guess there are always weaker ones such as yourself who give in to it all. Imagine if every soldier that ever was thought like you, what kind of world would we be living in?
Hey buddy. Please listen to me so I don't freak the fuck out over your stupid ass and look like even more of a moron on the internet. The mentality of the average American Infantryman...is a MILLLLLLION FUCKING TIMES more brutal and apathetic than mine is. Your sheltered little pansy mind has NO FUCKING CLUE. [editline]30th October 2013[/editline]
nothing you have said has been ~deep~
Hexpunk seems to disagree. He liek..totally masturbates over how ~deep~ and intimate I get on teh intarwebs....like TOTALLY.
you are also inarticulate and desperate all in all rather cringe-worthy to read
People who've joined the military and never deployed as opposed to people who have are likely to hold radically different worldviews. I think that's a pretty fair assumption.
I think you've never spent more than an hour with a single enlisted infantryman who has deployed.
the fact that you paid to write "former 101st AB Infantryman" under your name on a forum is really gay and what you ~think the majority of what people do doesn't give you an excuse to be a shitbird
you are also inarticulate and desperate all in all rather cringe-worthy to read
I'm having fun deciphering the meaning behind most of his posts. Once you get past the macho exterior you find a lovely centre of raging inferiority leading to over-exaggeration of how awesome it is being a (never deployed) soldier. With lots of fun justifications for why having such an awful moral code is totally fine because military (I've not actually managed to find the connecting reason there). Sure you've got the training, but you've not got the real experience to call yourself that.
you are also inarticulate and desperate
Yes! I absolutely am desperate. Desperate to help you see passed your little fucking computer screen. Help you to see what this job is really about. I will never succeed though. I will always look like some crazed disgruntled reject when it comes to military discussions simply because you will NEVER fucking know what it takes to survive this job..even in garrison, until you enlist for yourself.
I'm actually wondering, as I don't know too much about the internal affairs of the US military. Is it normal for a soldier to go through training and never see some form of deployment fairly shortly after? I mean, they did just train you after all, seems a waste to send you home for however many months or years it might take for them to actually need you.

I'll probably know more about it from reading Graves or Sassoon than ever listening to you.
the fact that you paid to write "former 101st AB Infantryman" under your name on a forum is really gay
Thank you for confirming you've never actually spent more than an hour with an enlisted infantryman and don't know what the fuck you're actually talking about. :v: [editline]30th October 2013[/editline]
I'm actually wondering, as I don't know too much about the internal affairs of the US military. The amount of training and suckage you endear multiplies once you actually get to a real Infantry company. But to answer your question. Whether you deploy or not depends on the deployment cycle, the needs of the army, and your PT score. My company was only able to let about 15 joes (new guys) deploy on this last deployment. 15 joes out of about 100. Needless to say, I wasn't the only disappointed new dick. Being an enlisted Infantryman, No. I would actually encourage you to consult me with questions about the Infantry before you consulted a magazine. I have nothing against you and don't mind spreading experience based knowledge.
Haha holy shit this thread is hilarious.
Consulted a magazine? I'm talking about books wrote by servicemen and their experiences. They knew a lot more about the experience than the ramblings of a deluded forum warrior.

But damn that's a massive number of people to take on and just send back after basic.

Sure you've got the training, but you've not got the real experience to call yourself that.
So basically anyone who served as an Infantryman during peacetime has no right to call themselves a former Infantryman or say they have experience as one?
HAHA..so anyone who served as an Infantryman during peacetime has no right to call themselves a former Infantryman or say they have experience as one? And you have WHAT fucking military experience to make this statement? You don't rate mate. You're nothing more than an armchair general.
better an armchair general than a forum private tbh
Consulted a magazine? I'm talking about books wrote by servicemen and their experiences.
Consulted a magazine? I'm talking about books wrote by servicemen and their experiences. They knew a lot more about the experience than the ramblings of a deluded forum warrior.
"Yeah, I read a book once. I'm pretty much Infantry." Sorry, had to do it. Military joke.
A Grunt doesn't have to deploy to understand the fear of a grunt. Your team leaders will literally do things to you behind closed doors that will make you suicidal within a week of being in the infantry. But, then we have fucking retards like "Seamanstains" that want to say stupid shit like, "Half of the military people on facepunch have no moral code" and it's just complete bullshit. I'm sorry I get ~deep~ and worked up when I hear complete bullshit, you guys. Continue spouting blind nonsense out of your mouths so I can practice not freaking the fuck out over ignorant horse shit. :v:
This is what full metal jacket would be like if Pyle had access to the internet. I know of 3 military people of facepunch so it's more like two thirds. My best friend spent months building a road out there and had a close call with a grenade and he still views them as human beings and not vermin to be exterminated. When you have all the power in the world you really do have to be sick or weak in the head to shoot someone after a battle who doesn't pose an immediate threat. Savyetski, if you haven't even been deployed and you're spouting this you need help because you are basically psychotic.
"Yeah, I read a book once. I'm pretty much Infantry." Sorry, had to do it. Military joke.
Wow military jokes are so dry there's like, not even a drop of humour in there. Coming from a Brit, the kings of dry humour.
"Yeah, I read a book once. I'm pretty much Infantry." Sorry, had to do it. Military joke.
btw did you ever get around to reading Dispatches? I think i vaguely remember suggesting it at some point. Its p good, deals with a lot of stuff savyetw/e is trying to say but you know, actually cleverly and with credentials.
Wow military jokes are so dry there's like, not even a drop of humour in there. Coming from a Brit, the kings of dry humour.
It would warrant a chuckle if you get the context behind it. Like I said, military humor. You pretty much have to be in to find it even remotely funny. [editline]30th October 2013[/editline]

Never claimed I was infantry. I am an Aviation POG, through and through.
It would warrant a chuckle if you get the context behind it. Like I said, military humor. You pretty much have to be in to find it even remotely funny.
You have got to be one of the most inane posters in this entire forum. You're grinding me down with this shit
It would warrant a chuckle if you get the context behind it. Like I said, military humor. You pretty much have to be in to find it even remotely funny.
The context seems pretty obvious "I read the second hand experiences of a soldier now I know more than an actual soldier" I assume that is the joke Man I can't believe I left the exciting military lifestyle when I did
It would warrant a chuckle if you get the context behind it. Like I said, military humor. You pretty much have to be in to find it even remotely funny. [editline]30th October 2013[/editline] Never claimed I was infantry. And they are just as awful "jokes".
Well, I can see how having people on reserve is reasonable. But damn that's a massive number of people to take on and just send back after basic.
Well you actually won't be "sent back" just because you didn't deploy. You seem a little confused as to what a Grunt does when he doesn't deploy. I totally understand and don't have a problem explaining this.. If you're not deployed...you're training to deploy. Even in peacetime. You're going through all the shit a grunt would only without getting shot at by enemy combatants and without being so far away from home. Training in garrison is actually really shitty because you're not in country and your team leaders have way more space to fuck with you and make you hate your life by doing things like: Smoking you to the point of muscle failure everyday and then some.. Smoking you BEFORE Physical Training even starts and making sure you're in pain before you even start on that 12 mile company run. Screaming things like, "NOBODY likes you, you homeschooled FUCK...just kill yourself already" into your face while you're crouching against a cage with an M4 at arms length...holding the action open by the charging handle with your fingertips for over an hour. (I have carpal tunel in my fingers to this day cause of this shit) And when you're not in your company cleaning weapons and getting smoked.... You're getting smoked in the field for 2 weeks straight every other week while it's raining the whole time. :v: Being in the field is literally the shittiest thing you can go through besides deployment, especially when you're in the field all the time. So yeah..there's definitely more to being a Grunt than just deploying...it's what comes before deployment that will determine if you survive or not.
