He was making sure the guy didn't turn into a crimson head, those fuckers are deadly.

Army=/= Infantry. The Army has many branches. Like I said, I am an Aviation POG (Person other than grunt). Also, I'm not the one that put that title there.
Neither do you.
Source?
Here is a list of all of the branches of the US Army: Adjutant General's Corps Air Defense Artillery Armor Aviation Cavalry Chemical Corps Civil Affairs Combat Medic Corps of Engineers Field Artillery Finance Corps Infantry Medical Service Corps Military Intelligence Military Police Corps Ordnance Corps Psychological Operations Quartermaster Corps Signal Corps Special Forces Transportation Corps Veterinary Corps [editline]30th October 2013[/editline] Damn, my automerge.
You have got to be one of the most inane posters in this entire forum. You're grinding me down with this shit
Excuse the fuck out of him for having a point.
Well you actually won't be "sent back" just because you didn't deploy. You seem a little confused as to what a Grunt does when he doesn't deploy. I totally understand and don't have a problem explaining this.. If you're not deployed...you're training to deploy. Even in peacetime. You're going through all the shit a grunt would only without getting shot at by enemy combatants and without being so far away from home. Training in garrison is actually really shitty because you're not in country and your team leaders have way more space to fuck with you and make you hate your life by doing things like: Smoking you to the point of muscle failure everyday and then some.. Smoking you BEFORE Physical Training even starts and making sure you're in pain before you even start on that 12 mile company run. Screaming things like, "NOBODY likes you, you homeschooled FUCK...just kill yourself already" into your face while you're crouching against a cage with an M4 at arms length...holding the action open by the charging handle with your fingertips for over an hour. (I have carpal tunel in my fingers to this day cause of this shit) And when you're not in your company cleaning weapons and getting smoked.... You're getting smoked in the field for 2 weeks straight every other week while it's raining the whole time. :v: So yeah..there's definitely more to being a Grunt than just deploying...it's what comes before deployment that will determine if you survive or not.
So you didn't even deploy or suffer at the hands of the Taliban you just think killing unarmed people is cool? Well I'm glad you're no longer in the military but now the shitty US mental health and prison systems have to deal with you.
it seems like when a normal person murders another person they are a monster that deserves life in prison. when you put a fucking uniform on that person a lot of people immediately feel sorry for him.
That's not necessarily a fair argument, war does fucked up things to the mind. I'm not saying he shouldn't be disciplined, but there's some messed up shit going on behind the curtains that you don't see sitting at home and it more than likely caused him to snap. We need to get this guy some help instead of throwing him into prison.
Reminds me of that armadillo documentary, worth a watch if you haven't seen it. Danish soldiers got reported for the same thing after they recorded shooting insurgents wounded by a grenade. Badly done Video above watch the full documentary if you can, translations are off- It's Graphic. Can't say anything about this situation though, sucks for all involved.
So yeah..there's definitely more to being a Grunt than just deploying...it's what comes before deployment that will determine if you survive or not.
So those like 3,000 servicemen that died in Afghanistan died because they somehow screwed up before deployment? what are you even trying to say
So those like 3,000 servicemen that died in Afghanistan died because they somehow screwed up before deployment? what are you even trying to say
Obviously they should have been exposed to more degradation and sub-cultural humiliation before being sent off to die in a desert
So you didn't even deploy or suffer at the hands of the Taliban you just thing killing unarmed people is cool?
Can't tell if retarded or trolling at this point.

Seriously, they are fucking brutal and merciless. I am in the 101st, and all of my infantry buddies in the infantry brigades tell me things that give me the shivers.
Obviously they should have been exposed to more degradation and sub-cultural humiliation before being sent off to die in a desert
That's literally the way the Infantry see's it. I'm glad you're finally catching on.
That's literally the way the Infantry see's it. I'm glad you're finally catching on.
Military culture is fucking dumb.
That's literally the way the Infantry see's it. I'm glad you're finally catching on.
And I assume you see that as a good thing? Oh wait I don't have to assume because you've spent this entire thread jerking off about your disgusting warrior culture

I would never want to be in the 101st during peacetime...no fucking way in hell... I'd literally rather get blown up across the pond than be a new guy in a 101st AB Infantry company during peacetime..
I'm trying to help you people see life from the perspective of a Grunt..that doesn't mean I LIKE that lifestyle in any way.
I dunno dude you seem pretty eager to go to Iranistan and murder some brown people The frankly terrifying warrior culture of the modern military is what finally convinced me to exit the army reserves. If I had not come to that decision I would have volunteered for service in Afghanistan and could even now be delighting in the death of brown people And before you serve up the epic zingers about my cowardice I do not mean terrifying on a personal level of inadequacy but on a larger societal level and the impact that warrior culture has.
Can't tell if retarded or trolling at this point.
irony
Haha holy shit this thread is hilarious.
I find it incredibly sad to be honest.
You are downplaying the hell that is being in a 101st AB infantry unit as a new guy. Seriously, they are fucking brutal and merciless. Going through a tough experience doesn't give you an excuse to be a prick. But evidently, it probably does do different things to different people.
I find it incredibly sad to be honest.
I assume you find it sad because people are condemning the murder of an injured enemy combatant, correct?
Wow military jokes are so dry there's like, not even a drop of humour in there. Coming from a Brit, the kings of dry humour.
I'm british and was in the army for 3 years and didn't find it funny It appears we've found a joke that was actually too dry Actually if it was an injoke why even say it ha
I assume you find it sad because people are condemning the murder of an injured enemy combatant, correct?
No, I find it sad because instead of being reasonable, the discussion attracted two extremes that keep flinging horrible insults and anyone that has said anything reasonable has been completely drown out by them.
Kids! Quit arguing right now, Or I will turn this van around and we will not go to Disney Land! Seriously this thread is going down hill.
No, I find it sad because instead of being reasonable, the discussion attracted two extremes that keep flinging horrible insults and anyone that has said anything reasonable has been completely drown out by them.
Tee hee expecting reasonable discussion from a gathering of teenage nerds and angry military veterans how silly

I went AWOL almost exactly 1 year into grunt life because I finally mentally broke after being physically assaulted several times during the work day by my own leadership. (being told to kill myself probably didnt help too much either) I was caught 9 months later and shipped back to Ft. Campbell. I was offered a chance to stay in but declined due to the fact that my mental and physical health had deteriorated so much by then. I'm out now with a General Discharge Under honorable Conditions as well as the opportunity to procure benefits. I'd never actually go after benefits as I don't feel I deserve it..but several doctors have confirmed that I do infact have PTSD as well as sever anxiety from the things that happened in my unit and because of a home invasion/murder I experienced while I was still in Kentucky. Now I know that many of you may take advantage of my being a deserter at one point and try to discredit everything I've said. It's cool. I expect nothing less. As for you, DaysBefore. I just wanted to share so I could kind of relate to you in telling the Army to fuck off. (Although I told them much more abruptly haha)
I'm british and was in the army for 3 years and didn't find it funny It appears we've found a joke that was actually too dry Actually if it was an injoke why even say it ha
Perhaps we could refine this, weaponise it. Give the world something new to fear?
A very standard description of the modern military warrior culture
You know what dude I understand you a lot more after reading this, and though I can't ever sympathize with the wishful feelings towards killing you showed a few pages back I can understand your frustration
You know what dude I understand you a lot more after reading this, and though I can't ever sympathize with the wishful feelings towards killing you showed a few pages back I can understand your frustration
-Snip- Never mind, read your post the wrong way. Sorry about that.
