You're like the first person I've seen to ever speak positively about those features.
people here haven't really been positive about that because this forum is mostly made up of PC gamers who, generally, just want games and nothing else. there's plenty of people who bought/are buying the xbox because of its media features. my aunt and uncle in arizona bought one because they were sick of having to jump between 4 different boxes to watch all their shit.
History has shown that playstation exclusives are, for the most part, better than xbox ones. If I had to choose, I'd get a ps4 because of that
How the hell can you even say something like this? What constitutes a 'better' game is ENTIRELY subjective. Mass Effect was, for a long time, an xbox exclusive and it was one of the primary reasons I decided to get an xbox 360 over a PS3. That was a fucking fantastic game, and every exclusive I saw on the PS3 at the time, in my opinion, paled in comparison to Mass Effect.
neither of them have any games on them atm that i'd consider killer exclusives, honestly there's no clear 'winner' with regard to software yet, and considering that is the only thing that you should be buying a console for anyway (since in all regards other than exclusives they're essentially artificially limited PCs) either one is as good a choice as the other
I'd say the only real "killer exclusive" that is truly exclusive so far is Forza 5, mainly because there's no similar game on the PS4 yet.
I'd say the only real "killer exclusive" that is truly exclusive so far is Forza 5, mainly because there's no similar game on the PS4 yet.
Forza 5 is basically DLC for Forza 4 though. There is barely any difference. Hardly a killer app.
Forza 5 is basically DLC for Forza 4 though. There is barely any difference. Most are holding out for Titanfall though.
Forza 5 is basically DLC for Forza 4 though. There is barely any difference. Hardly a killer app.
There's only so much you can do to evolve a racing game, though. You could say that Forza 4 is a DLC of Forza 3 in the same regard.
tbh what did the PS3 have in its early days? heavenly sword (ew)? it's really amazing how much they managed to turn that console around since launch
tbh I found the last generation of exclusives on the PS3 (Resistance 3, KZ3 and Uncharted 3) very lackluster except for Last of Us. When they had MGS4, Resistance 2 and KZ2 and Uncharted 2, God of War 3, that was the pinnacle of exclusives at the time. I just hope they bring that awesomeness back around again
I personally don't understand the hype for titanfall, it's pretty much call of duty with robots.......oh wait.
I buy every console eventually even handhelds and an up to date PC. Some people buy expensive boats and cars I buy lots of expensive gaming shit :v: Just my 2 cents based on playing both They're both pretty similar in hardware power to the point of that they're gonna both be pretty fucking similar for the next 5-7 years to the point where it won't even be noticeable until the end of the generation. The Xbone games that run at 720p are because of the time from the lack of optimization. Sony pushed game devs really fucking hard to have all their shit playable on there console at E3 and I think most of the games running at 60fps at 1080 at launch is the result of that. The one thing everyone doesn't realize thats hilarious is the software on the PS4 is vastly superior to the Xbox One. The Xbox One I have to constantly unplug to clear its memory so I can use party chat or the controller again and sometimes games cause an out of memory crash to dashboard but wether thats Xbones fault there or lazy devs I don't know. The UI is also god fucking awful. Just imagine 360 being W7 and Xbone being W8 and its kinda like that. Everything is buried under menus and toggles which has been a terrible experience so far. This company mindset that Sony is a hero is also misguided. Did everyone just forget about how they relentlessly chased that guy who cracked one of the replaceable software keys on the PS3? Only to have the non replaceable ones to be cracked later by some fringe group no one heard of. They also made PS+ required for online games which granted dosen't bug me because of all the games but I know it ruffled some feathers of people I know.
from owning both consoles i think i find myself using the xbone more, mainly since it has a nice variety of other shit to do since most launch exclusives were meh IMO. Personally i like it more than the ps4 UI that has an endless stream of titles to go down, with the xbone i just need to tell it the title (sometimes more than once since i mumble). i haven't had any crashes on either yet, maybe i'm just not doing it right. personally both look meh to me since there's nothing intresting really out anytime soon. i'm not going to hold my breath since i'm just going to finish my year long upgrade on my comp. i'm just glad my family bought them and most of the games.
Microsoft probably don't care as long as they do well in the US. The TV shit won't even matter or work outside of the US. Not mention that it isn't even available on most parts of the world. So outside of the US there will be mostly PS4s sold, at least that is my guess seeing as how they are delaying the release in Scandinavia (for example) by a year.
lmao the op is a battle between boxes and winners it's wonderful
what why. Sony global headquarters are in Tokyo and the whole nation is renowned for having the latest and greatest in tech, I don't get it.
To be fair the Japanese consumer base is rather unorthodox. Handhelds do well in Japan and Arcades have somehow managed to stay huge there, but the console market has shrunk slightly and PC gaming has been stagnant for basically ever.
How the hell can you even say something like this? What constitutes a 'better' game is ENTIRELY subjective.
If they make another good Jak and Daxter game or Ratchet and Clank, rip xbox
The PS2 had a tonne of amazing games and it didn't kill the xbox, realistically a few good exclusives is not going to stop the other console from being successful.
The PS2 had a tonne of amazing games and it didn't kill the xbox, realistically a few good exclusives is not going to stop the other console from being successful.
I'd rather have two successful consoles and I'm sure most people agree. Competition is always good and drives innovation.
both (well hopefully MGS) are coming to pc so i dont really see a reason for a console atm other than to play with friends. but im not shelling out 500$ for a fucking console, thats ludicrous.
Yes, however. Notice that not all exclusive titles some how make there way to PC. But some games are specially made for consoles. I understand you completely though, forking out money for a console for a small library of games is ridiculous. But other then that, the reason why I want a PS4 (later on) is so I can play MGS (and various other great titles) on a sony console. I can't imagine MGS5 on PC, sorry.
The PS2 had a tonne of amazing games and it didn't kill the xbox, realistically a few good exclusives is not going to stop the other console from being successful.
well it didn't "kill" it by putting them out of business, I don't think anyone wants them out of business, that'd just ruin the console market with lack of competition. It did destroy the xbox in sales though. The PS2 is the, or if not the, second best now selling console ever. Huge amounts of sales. I want both consoles this generation, but I don't see why you'd buy either right now. Neither really have a diverse line up of games out, or even seemingly coming out this year.

What on earth :v: Never even noticed, but it deserves it, was a real good console
Bullshit. Nobody's going to buy the more expensive console if they think it's worse.
That is where the XBox excels.
Every single model of PS3 can play PS1 games
Wait, really? Fantastic!
I don't really know where you're coming from, after playing my brothers PS4 for an extended period of time (he left it at my place over break so I could play Killzone and a couple other games) I prefer the Xbox's Ones UI quite a bit better. Mostly the little things from the web browser to the friends list, and also the ease of using voice controls to access different apps. However, I do think that the PS4's UI is nicer looking. While I still do think the One's UI looks good, I miss the distinct difference between PC UIs and console UIs. The One looks too much like Windows 8 for me. Also, I think one of the big reasons why people are getting Xbox Ones over the PS4 is due to the Ones sheer domination in innovation. While the PS4 is basically just a direct graphical upgrade of the PS3 with some software enhancements, the One does a wide variety of new and, surprisingly useful things. For example, the One includes with it an HDMI pass through which, although mainly meant for TV, can be used for any HDMI device. You could theoretically hook up a PS4 and play PS4 games while also playing One games on the same screen using the One's snap feature. While this may not seem practical, it's undeniably a really cool feature. I myself have plugged in my 360 to my One for a sort of makeshift backwards compatibility. It's cool being able to switch between my One and my 360 on the fly through voice / the home button. After spending a good amount of time with both, the PS4 just feels so bare bones compared to the One. I know this will be fixed via patches over time, but as it is you just can't do much on the PS4.
I bought an XBOX One and a PS4, got all my bases covered. Guess I'm a mindless consumer zombie.
I still use mine to play PS1/2 games, due to my release-day 60 gig PS3 YLODing and forcing me to buy a cheaper slim one without emulation for the other two consoles.
By now my computer's able to emulate the PS2 so well that I just dug out all my old PS2 discs and turned them into ISOs for an emulator. I wonder if anyone's working on emulators for the 360/PS3 to the same extent right now
to my knowledge the 360 and PS3 require quite a bit more computing power to emulate. It'll be a while before they have a working emulation.

From what I hear MGSR:R is a very good port too.
From what I hear MGSR:R is a very good port too.
its extremely good, very few problems and the controls switch automatically whenever it detects a different input.
