I was also once told that you only see at most two popes in your lifetime, but at this rate they could be changing frequently. None of the cardinals seem to be young any more.

I hate to defend the Catholic church, but a little while ago Pope Benedict did say that using condoms was OK only to prevent the spread of STDs. For some reason, that seems to have floated over a lot of people's heads.
