only with soccer could the violent people in the crowd be refered to as "hooligans"

Someone is pissed for loosing [editline]15th June 2016[/editline]
They probably watched Green Street too many times. This is pretty shitty to be honest, they came over attacking English fans who then fought back in self-defence yet none of the Russians have been caught yet.
I thought this happens all the time in soccer. Like recently the German fans kicked Ukrainian fans asses, nobody is did qualifying anyone. It's pretty absurd that everybody is trying to paint Russian fans as some Putins personal deathsquad.
only with soccer could the violent people in the crowd be refered to as "hooligans"
well, it's kinda the definition of it, so yeah
only with soccer could the violent people in the crowd be refered to as "hooligans"
"I have literally no idea what I'm talking about!"

This isn't "pissed for loosing" or happening all the time, this is WAY more violent than what 'usually' happens.

Sorry While they're obviously not endorsed by the Russian state some politicians have praised rather than condemned their violence.
-bad post-
Me and the bois gunna show these russian pussies how us uk hooligans do it by hiding behind our doors watching the footy on tv

Some crazies did go out of their way and celebrate it like a victory in battle or something. Then again some oposition crazies went equally batshit and claimed stuff like that fans were literally spetznaz soldiers with a secret plan to sabotage football so that Putin has an excuse to not hold the 2018, which he needed because the country is (according to the crazies) crumbling to pieces. I find it all amusing

Anything else is personal opinion of individuals. Heck, imagine if world took everything that Zhirinovsky said as an official stance. As for situation, i'd say both sides share the blame -russian fan zone is fucked up for allowing things escalating so damn badly, but english fans commited to violence outside the stadium noneless, no surprise that few portrain them as provokers in this case and it might be truth to some degree. Its just the fact that everyone is ignoring details or other cases. It always the russian case, but i dont see official security receiving any backlash.
While it's amusing it's quite disgusting to see officials say things like "English fans were fighting in self defense to protect women and children": http://www.fsf.org.uk/latest-news/view/fsf-statement-attacks-on-english-fans-in-marseille-euro2016 I mean look at those poor family people getting assaulted by russian hooligans

I won't talk about the french since the news I saw was about the british. I won't pretend the british aren't bad, frankly british people abroad are sort of a form of national humiliation, at least to some people. That said the news reports we're seeing here, along with statements from people in russia make it seem like the russian groups we're more violent/prepared for violence. Before the first game on the news a reporter was covering the british hooligans in a face off with the police. He seemed utterly appalled and embarrassed by their behaviour. Not all of the people involved in the fight want to be involved in the fight though, so its not horse play at that point its legitimately scary for them. You and Kari above mentioned the official response was one of disapproval which has been overlooked in favour of the approval stance from a few individuals. I probably should have mentioned that in OP. As Kari said both sides are looking for a fight, its not just 1 sided, people are just shocked about just how violent those fights get (batons, metal bars, people being beaten near to death) and outraged that bystanders get drawn into it.

I just can't imagine saving up money for a world championship ticket and thinking:"Oh lord it's a lifetime experience to have a 3 sided international brawl, I should make sure to not forget my metal rebar!

In early secondary school we would have fights on the school fields, nobody really got seriously injured or anything and it was fun, we grew up though.
In fairness British hooligans seemed to only fight other hooligans who were up for the fight. These ruskies seem intent on attacking small groups with the safety of plenty of backup. Anyone can take out opposing supporters when the odds are stacked in their favour numbers wise.

so how often do soccer matches end in riots or street brawls over there in europe because it seems like a very common occurrence from what i have seen
so how often do soccer matches end in riots or street brawls over there in europe because it seems like a very common occurrence from what i have seen
Rarely in the uk
so how often do soccer matches end in riots or street brawls over there in europe because it seems like a very common occurrence from what i have seen
quite often but not of this size enough to cause chaos, it's usually very smalls groups so you don't hear about them on the news
