I just came. Everywhere. They better do this right, I honestly hope it doesn't end up like every other video game movie ever. Wonder who could play Sarif, his voice actor would probably be the best choice
This will either be a loyal and well made film that will perfectly and accurately capture the game, or it's gonna suck bad.
Played by Brad Pitt, and it's about how Adam Jensen, a UN worker, has to work to save the world from the cyborgs
Honestly, the abominable trailer for WWZ popped right into my head. I fear this movie will have the title, and maybe the character, and not much more. [editline]15th November 2012[/editline]
I wouldnt get my hopes up, every movie that was based around a game has so far has been shit.
And now, thinking about it more...it's a story about a man who was crippled in an attack where his love interest was taken from him, and he has sworn to find her and her kidnappers, and it has a lot of action sequences and exotic locales. It's pretty much how Hollywood modifies stories anyway!
The games are a better medium with which to tell the story, fuck this shit.
Deus Ex has a story that could work on any medium, really.
Toufexis is actually quite a good actor, I think he could pull off Adam in the movie. Besides he was adam for 4 years while working on DE:HR
the perfect deus ex movie would be this in full length
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq5KWLqUewc The extended one gives me chills each time.
toufexistoufexistoufexistoufexistoufexis pls
If they reveal he is involved that will be the first sign of hope for this movie. Okay, maybe he isn't that important but I'd love him do the voice. Tell me though when was the last time a big movie star allowed to be dubbed over.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES Who will play jensen's part?
don't fuck it up don't fuck it up don't fuck it up don't fuck it up don't fuck it up
I read 'Deus Ex: Human Resources'
Seriously, don't get your hopes up people. Check the directors IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0220600/ My god, so many bad movies.
Seriously, don't get your hopes up people. Check the directors IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0220600/ My god, so many bad movies.
I work at a cinema and saw the ending of "Sinnister" (his newest, and the writer's gonna be the same); though I haven't seen the whole movie, the ending sucked ass. Even though I had not seen the movie, it was very predictable, and overall just seemed second-rate. I would really like someone else to do it.
Peter Jackson directs Deus Ex HR. Go.
Imagine if toufexis pulled a Christian Bale and completely worked out and shaped himself to fit Jensen's look, maybe slip in some colored contacts to get the eye color and shit - I would slam the money on the counter if that happened.
I just hope they don't end up doing a bunch of action scenes.
the film is 12 hours long because Jensen stops and hacks every computer and sneaks past every enemy
Seriously, don't get your hopes up people. Check the directors IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0220600/ My god, so many bad movies.
Emily Rose was a good movie. Had me staying awake after watching it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq5KWLqUewc The extended one gives me chills each time.
well fuck now I gotta play again
I don't mind action in the movie as long as there's an equal amount of stealth, backstory, and showing off the setting and how the world changed as a whole. I can't trust the director though, he seems like the kind of guy who thinks 100% action = money. I really want a different director. Hopefully, since DE:HR story is already almost perfect for a movie script, he can just use that as a base for how the plot should go. I just hope he's played the game as well instead of just reading the summary of the plot too, so he could understand the mood and tone of the game as well.
I'm imagining with a less 1984-ish setting and more cool cybernetics. Honestly, as terrible as videogame movies tend to be, this could actually have potential.
except equilibrium was an over-developed over-symbolic piece of shit with a plot nothing like deus ex
lets hope this movie will be the bomb
If they reveal he is involved that will be the first sign of hope for this movie. Okay, maybe he isn't that important but I'd love him do the voice. Tell me though when was the last time a big movie star allowed to be dubbed over.
I don't get it though, Toufexis looks like Adam Jensen, he played Adam Jensen, his fucking wife/girlfriend is the person who plays Adam Jensen's girlfriend, and, if I remember, is the model for the character. This is probably the only time in history where you could get lead actors who look, sound, and act identically to the characters in the game. If they fuck this up, I swear to christ I will find whatever casting director is working for this movie and wrench open their jaw so wide that I can kick them in the heart. Just like Insidious! [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] Now that I think of it, Ethan Hawke looks A LOT like Adam Jensen. And considering he was just in Scott's last movie, it wouldn't be surprising if he was put in.
Charlie Day as Jensen.
They better carry over the acting too, it just wouldn't be Deus Ex without it
If Toufexis isn't Adam then there shouldn't be an Adam, it's that simple And videogame movies could only work if the crew focused in and was in part people who have played and like the game (IMO)
Deus Ex is one of the few games I believe could be turned into a movie, but being a Game movie I have to keep my hopes in line with possibility
Seriously, don't get your hopes up people. Check the directors IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0220600/ My god, so many bad movies.
"hey lets get a director that does horror movies to do our action movie."

It's about a cycle.
except equilibrium was an over-developed over-symbolic piece of shit with a plot nothing like deus ex
Yeah, but as far as visual style and acting, the monks are pretty similar to the Dentons, and the gunplay was pretty cool. Heck, that poster makes Christian Bale look a lot like JC Denton.
