The taking a selfie craze is fuelling body image worries

This is hilarious and ridiculous. It's insane that anybody would feel pressure to take part in something that doesn't even really matter to begin with. In fact as we already know selfies are correlated with mental disorder. Perhaps that's the deeper problem at hand?

Quit talking out of your ass.
it's not all about weight you know
Being fat is one thing to obsess over, but it could just as easily be that your ears are too big or that your nose is too long or that your lips look like you stole them from a fish or that your hair makes you look like a hobo or etc . . .
Weight is a health issue and should be managed for multiple reasons but that's kinda separate from obsessive hatred of your own body.
Remember the "perfect selfy" guy? That's the issue we're talking about, not fat people refusing to exercise.
Do people actually exist that use video calls?
I mean, I do. I FaceTime my friends a lot but only when I'm at home.
Since when is taking a picture of yourself a "fad"?
I've never taken a selfie. Not because of the act in itself, which is no great matter, it's just that I don't have much to show.
Actually in most cases you can change your weight.
Not if the selfie needs to happen NOW
And it does, as selfies are extremely important
it's not just people who are obese.
lots of teenaged girls feel fat for literally no reason; they look absolutely fine, but their asshole peers make them feel terrible about themselves for having a fraction of an ounce of a thin layer of lipids lining their stomach.
it gets harder to shave off extra body fat as you lose more and more - getting from 140 to 130 or shaving off some excess in your arms/stomach requires more dedication and work than getting from 300 to 250.
As someone who went from 380 pounds to 230 pounds, and is currently trying to get below 200 pounds, I can say it does get harder as you go along.
Obsessing over selfies and trying to get one that's perfect is dumb. If you want to take a picture of yourself there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just don't obsess over getting it perfect.
Kids these days.

Yeah, 270 to 180, I'd like to lose more but I'm pretty content with it. The difficulty curve seems to ramp up exponentially.

well the skinnier you get the easier it is to build muscle, I'm like 120 but after one to two days you can start to see tone definition building up(just recently started working out since the lack of cigarette's).
