• 'Trolled to death' - calls for David Cameron to ban ask.fm as another teenager kills herself

It's the parents fault for allowing his daughter to go onto ask.fm.
So ban an obscure site that one person got bullied on, but not Facebook or 4chan, for example...
Real death, especially one of an innocent citizen, especially one that's so young is...pretty terrible. I'd like to not to be that guy, but so far most of the posts in this thread have been oversimplifying the issue and blaming the victim. I highly doubt that whether or not you would commit suicide, just take a brisk walk outside, or whatever, is really relevant while simultaneously overjudging a young girl who's already dead. For all of the good amount of genius people in this thread that know how to handle every aspect of their internet usage: it seems a lot of shit is being overlooked. This isn't like a 30 year old mentally developed woman killing herself because someone said mean things a few times. This was a hormonal 14 year old girl who was mentally compromised enough to hang herself after some pricks (probably around the same age) decided it'd be a fun adventure to throw insanely revolting words towards her directly, and constantly. "I hope you get cancer," "I hope you drink bleach," shit like this isn't anywhere close to the same as a random "lol u ugly," especially if you're a young teen who would believe it. Hell, I'm sure that there was even worse being said especially if some of the anon hate was from people who knew her. But seriously, you're telling me that every single one of you at the age of 13-14 wouldn't take any kind of hate personally? You're telling me that when you've gotten to the point of extreme depression where you're convincing yourself that you don't deserve to live...that you would be logically sound about a seemingly large amount of directed hate? That the people who said those terrible words are more in the right than the girl who doesn't have the incredible hindsight that you do since she's already dead? Personally, I think that's an insanely stupid mind set. No one should have to leave a site they obviously like spending time on normally, or hell, the entire internet, just because some people are psychotic and wish harm on anyone just for laughs. With all of that said, yeah, a lot of things could've been done to help out the girl, like her mother blocking the website or deleting the account. I'm sure if the mother didn't have a dead daughter, she'd love to take more extreme measures than hoping that people on the internet wouldn't be insufferably insane. For now, at least most of us can take comfort knowing that we're all not suicidal teens with expert knowledge of how people on the internet can be dicks but its totes okay because that's just how it always is.
You...you need to write more posts like this.
The next time somebody rates me "dumb," that is it!
gj trivializing suicide & depression in an attempt to garner zings and funnies too bad it backfired but hey, you were trying and that's what counts
This fat bitch stole my hat at a party and when I nicely asked for it back, she cussed me out and shit. So I made this picture of her and posted it on facebook. Her friends yelled at me because I guess she got really depressed but that's what you get for stealing shit and then not giving it back when you're called out on it. If I had killed myself every time someone had been mean to me on the internet the Grim Reaper would have quit his job from work overload :v:
