christians dont run into the opposing sects churches and blow themselves up
Nope but they do blow up abortion clinics
while banning shariah law itself may have a racist background in whoever came up with the bill, it's completely constitutional to ban the state adopting religious law, in fact, that's guaranteed in our constitution, so this is really just a redundancy. [editline]22nd November 2010[/editline] christians dont run into the opposing sects churches and blow themselves up
there's been an equal number of terroristic acts committed by christians, if not more. oklahoma city bombings, abortion clinic bombings/killings, hate crimes on muslims in particular etc.
posting commandments in a court of law is absolutely nothing like using sharia law the only thing I can think of that christians voted for that has a religious vs. political effect is taking evolution out of textbooks, which is dumb in my opinion
there's also same-sex marriage, abortion rights, stem-cell research, right to die, the fact that it being an athiest means you have no chance to be elected president and severely hurts your chances of being elected to lesser positions... [editline]22nd November 2010[/editline]
here I'll make a diagram so you can understand it better, might still be too complicated for you: group 1>fucks shit>group 2, group 2>mad at>group 1, group 1>build institutes near>group 2
no but the problem is that you think that all muslims are all part of the same "group", which is dumb as hell thinking
Britain has a problem with underground Sharia law courts that over ride the current legal system
oh shut up the sharia law courts are not allowed to overrule the legal system and any divorce or legal settlement is still cleared through the UK system [editline]22nd November 2010[/editline]
Regardless, it is still unsensitive of them to want to build a Muslim community centre there - they may have not done it, but a sect of their faith did, whatever anyone says, even though they may have been disowned.
okay in that case no more catholic shit because they heil hitlered all over the fucking place back in WW2.
oh shut up the sharia law courts are not allowed to overrule the legal system and any divorce or legal settlement is still cleared through the UK system
I meant there is a problem with it illegally, as in a lot of these courts are bypassing real courts of law in favour of their own.
I meant there is a problem with it illegally, as in a lot of these courts are bypassing real courts of law in favour of their own.
i don't see how that's relevant then.
Islamic law should be outlawed across the entire United States because many parts of it go against US law. Also Separation of church and state also applies to mosque and state.
Separation of church and state, this guy needs to learn his shit.
I meant there is a problem with it illegally, as in a lot of these courts are bypassing real courts of law in favour of their own.
but an extra-legal court has no legal bearing on anything because it's, uh, extra-legal
why does this exist and need to be campaigned, if its unnecessary because of separation of church and state? its being called the Save Our State law, which also worries me in that this law is supposed to 'save' the state of Oklahoma from Sharia Law, despite the fact that through separation of church and state this law is unnecessary. doubly so, as theres no precedent to speak of in Oklahoma that calls for this sort of bill to be drafted. Ive been doing a bit of reading to see if I can shake some concerns I have with this bill, but Im still seeing it as worrisome, superfluous/redundant/unnecessary, and frankly a purely politcal, petty campaign of nationalistm and fearmongering against Islam, which I see as deeply troubling to be honest.

its not supposed to be there anyway, so theoretically yes. was there enough instances of it being posted in courtrooms that it warranted the ban?
let's ban everything twice just to be sure
